They are pretty similar aren't they? Given that I know and love "Life in the fast lane" I'm going for that. I have no doubt I'll be in the minority, as everyone here seems to hate the Eagles...

Eagles - 1
Purple - 0

Eagles - 2

My decision was not influenced by this in the least bit, I assure you.

Not a huge fans of the Eagles but that riff is just plain awesome and that Purple riff is a bit sluggish by comparison.

Eagles 3
Purple 1

The Deep Purple song is way better (and Burn is my favourite album from them), but that Eagles riff is a lot more enticing. I don't hate The Eagles but I'm not a fan either so I was kind of surprised that I'd prefer their riff over Purple's.

Eagles - 4
Deep Purple - 2

Was kind of hoping it would play out like this.

I absolutely love Burn, it's also my favorite Deep Purple album (Sail Away is my favorite riff from it), and I very rarely listen to The Eagles (although I'm always ready to admit that Hotel California may be one of the best examples of the closest thing to a perfect song out there), but Life In the Fast Lane's riff almost definitely falls into my top 5 riffs of all time, it's insanely good.

I'll go for Burn myself. Mind-blowing riff.
