I'm not, to be honest, crazy about either but I find the Zep riff a little boring and plodding, so I'll give it to Kings X

Zep -1
Kings X - 1

Late to this as I don't log in that much but Smoke on the Water bores the absolute arse off me and I'm not trying to be confrontational either. I hated it when I first heard it and 30 years later it still sucks! I am a massive Sabbath fan but Paranoid bores me too.

As for the next round Kings X for me but I wouldn't really call it a riff, more of a motif. The song isn't built around the riff. There are far better riffs on Gretchen goes to Nebraska IMO.

Zep 2
Kings X - 1

Zep wins like, 90% of riff battles.

I can forgive you for saying Smoke is boring, because you don't find this boring, which a lot of people do for reasons I fail to understand.

The King's X one is ok, even if on the whole the song is great. Gonna go with Zep on this one.

Zep - 3
King's X - 1
