I have just realised I disagree with you.
They were both popular in the late 80s; just as early 90s. And they have had equally "BIG" singles. etc during that period. The only difference is the exact time people dicovered them.
BTW, Mozart has been doing pretty well, still in the 21st century. His music is still an inspiration for many rock bands, esp. those that mix rock etc. with classical sounds. Suprisingly enough, this comes out pretty well.
