LED ZEPPELIN, let the arguing begin!:shycouch:

boo boo 10-02-2005 05:55 AM

OH GOD NO!, this is the debate that nearly destroyed DDD, dont let it happen to Music Banter. :(

Why god?, Why?

andy 10-02-2005 06:33 AM

Haha, my bad

Animal Mother 10-02-2005 12:06 PM

Good thing you don't post on DDDs Rock Forum, Josh From Hawaii would rip you a new one, he hates most zepheads with a passion. ;)

Urban Hat€monger ? 10-02-2005 03:18 PM

It was a long time ago , I forget who was better

Imonlydancing 10-02-2005 03:20 PM

I dunno. I like them both.

Sneer 10-02-2005 03:21 PM

zeppelin

PerFeCTioNThrUSileNCe 10-02-2005 04:44 PM

word. i like both, but led just seems to suit my fancy better.

TheBig3 10-02-2005 06:58 PM

wtf is DDD, and I'd like to say the war here should have split this place awhile ago. We're still alive and the only casualty is Satchmo who probably got too pissed parenting retards here who just wanted to push his buttons cause they didn't get Mod.

Music Banter is always war, we'll never die. And The Test of Time called and said Led Zep kicked the Who's ass.

Fire_Starter 10-02-2005 07:08 PM

ye me too i like both but i think Led...

PerFeCTioNThrUSileNCe 10-02-2005 07:14 PM

yeah...ya know.....whatever happened to satch? havent seen him around these parts in ages.

Merkaba 10-02-2005 07:47 PM

DDD is Digital Dream Door i think from memory. Another forum website.

The Who were good but Led Zeppelin were psychadelica-tastic.

beardovstars 10-02-2005 11:57 PM

zeppelin are the greatest band of all time.

traveller 10-03-2005 02:34 AM

i like'm both. but probly go for zep

DontRunMeOver 10-03-2005 04:34 AM

Zeppelin. They were absolute monsters, geniuses, out of this world. The Who were just a very good band.

Strangely, I just conjured a weird picture in my mind of how a direct contest between The Zep and The Who would go. It ended up as a video of a small scooter (The Who) trying to batter down the front gate of a castle (The Zep) by repeatedly ramming into it, until finally the scooter is put out of its misery by somebody dropping a large rock onto it from the castle wall.

No, really, I think that The Beatles are the greatest band of all time

antman188 10-03-2005 03:05 PM

Led Zeppelin and the Who are my two favorite bands. I mean, almost neck-and-neck with each other, almost. But...I'm gonna have to go with Led Zeppelin, though the Who is a great band.

jr. 10-03-2005 04:51 PM

The great thing about it is, you can enjoy one more than the other, and vice-versa, depending on your musical mood at the moment.

Overall, I like the Who better. But, if I want something more blues tinged, the I'll listen to Zep. I win, either way.

imspiderman 10-03-2005 10:24 PM

ZEP!
the who.. are good.. pinball wizard = awesome, but the Zep takes it all.

zeppelin would beat them at what? wreckin' hotel rooms?! hardly! the who 'invented' hotel wreckin.' the who went from three minute, top forty jingle pop singers through several decades and ended up on broadway. along the way they began the first throes of punk (if you don't hear punk in "rich man's blues" from 'live at leeds' you don't have ears for punk); along with zeppelin, endured a decade that started with peace and love and ended with disco and stil kept pumping; and influenced at least two generations. my g-g-g-g-generation.

having witnessed these two bands twice each, i must admit to being a fan of both. camped, tripping for zeppelin tickets for the physical graffiti tour even but live? no one.......'no one' beats the who live. and for me, that's how bands ought be judged.

PhishFood 10-14-2005 09:09 PM

Well I'll take the time and do me a side by side comparrison-
Drums - Moon vs. Bonzo-Both have the drive and talent, but bonzo is just more versitle
w:0 z:1
Vocals - Daltrey vs. Plant- Both amazingly versitale, but also through into the vocals mix is entwhistle and townshend, thinking of that, the who takes it
w:1 z:1
Guitar- Townshend vs. Page- TOwnshend was no great guitarist, page was, done
w:1 z:2
Bass- Entwhistle vs Jones- Another clash of the titans, I think Entwhistle Squeaks by on bass merits,
w:2 z:2
Musicainship- I've got to give this to Zep, pretty much just for john paul jones.
w:2 z:3
Songs-now this one is damned hard, and a matter of opinion. I like the fact that the who's are wide spread in stlye, but I think I just personally prefer the hard driving blues rock of Zep,
w:2 z:4
Live-No deliberation, Who
w:3 z:4

So I think Zeppelin Has it.

TheBig3 10-14-2005 09:12 PM

Baba O'Reilly really screws Zeppelin hard. And I've never heard Magic Bus.

Townshend not a great guitarist?, im afraid you're mistaken, hes only one of the top 10 most influencial guitarists of all time, he may not be super technical but he was still great, listen to Quadrophena for some impressive guitar work...His live improv is also very good.

one_more_atrocity 10-15-2005 09:23 AM

the who, they rock my socks!! zeppelin are noobs compared to them!!
xXx one_more_atrocity xXx

letbobrest 10-16-2005 06:36 AM

deadkennedysmeetstheclash 10-16-2005 08:49 AM

Okay, this is what gets me..Why is everyone even attempting to comapre the two?? Led Zepplin= Blues driven rock The Who- classic rock..They were completly different..I don't know how you can compare the two...

and for Phisfood, Plant was a much better singer than daltry, although the Who had better songs. Pete was a abetter songwriter than Plant/Page. Bonham was indeed a better tedhnical drummer than Moon, but Moon had so much more charisma. I would say teh Who had more recognisable songs 'part from Zep's stairway to heaven. personally, I prefer the Who. But who's the better?? Who knows..There uncomaparble..

Yeah he's kinda not that good. I mean he mushc better than me, but comparibly, he's at the low end of the spectrum.

I'm gonna have to disagree with you there. In fact, there are two very recognizable songs off the same album as stairway: Black Dog and Rock and Roll. And what about Whole Lotta Love? Dazed and Confused? Heartbreaker? Ramble On? Living Loving Maid? Kashmir?...
That's the problem with Stairway: it puts all the other great Zep songs in its shadow so no one pays attention to them. It's a great song, don't get me wrong, but there are so many other great songs, and some may say better than stairway.
