There are more important things than just technical efficiency, perfect timing and preciseness... People like Moon more because his style had a more authentic agressiveness to it.

And even if Neil dosen't have that kind of passion, he can fake it really good, and much more cleanly and professionally too, but i do prefer Moon myself, for probably no justifiable reason other than being more of a Who fan than a Rush fan.

Bill Bruford pwns them both anyway.

I much prefer Peart as a drummer. Also, Rush are way better than the Who in my opinion.

In technical skill, sure.

But i consider kicking ass a technical skill, which The Who are much better at.

The Who were more original as well, not to say that Rush are not original... Though they did borrow a lot from their influences (which include Yes, Zep and you guessed it, The Who) and made it more modern and added a more complex structure to the formula, but without being too complex... One reason for Rush's success was because they had a more "rock n roll" feel than any other prog band as well as writing more accessible and catchy songs, not just because of their instrumental abbilities, since many prog bands either come close to or surpass Rush in that department.

Yes indeed they are. Watch out when Moon(may he rest in peace lol) and Townshend come to town.

Who's better is subjective (here i go again) but i'm further convinced that The Who are superior, and for several reasons... I simply think they had better musical, lyrical and thematic ideas... Which made up for what they lacked in skill (compared to Rush that is, because The Who are actually a very capable band) and more importantly it made them a more effective and influencial rock band... Even though Lifeson is better than Townshend, Lee better than Entwhistle, Peart better than Moon, etc... You could say Rush are a better ensemble, but The Who had more chemestry, someone like Lifeson for example is replacable, sure he is a very good player, but he's the weakest musician in the band, and many musicians can play like him or copy his style to the point that if someone like Steve Lukather joined the band, many wouldn't even notice.... Now The Who could came back with Steve Gadd on drums and Michael Manring on bass but they simply wouldn't be The Who anymore... That's just how important each member's unique style was to the band's sound.

Just my two cents.
