Or listen to Odessey and Oracle once then make a playlist of that with The Velvet Underground & Nico and just go with that only on shuffle for a week or so.
I'm not gonna listen to it today or soon! I can only listen to up 1 unkown album per day, if it's more than that I get confused and I don't understand anything lol. And both bands were unkown to me, so it's not a very good idea. By the way, is Odesseey and Oracle also experimental?

Yeah, I think almost every Zep fan should love Stairway To Heaven. Which album from the suggested ones in this thread do you think is the best one to listen to next?

I've liked it, I didn't understand it very well, but hey, there's still a lot of time, but it's good that I'm already familiar to it.
I know that this doesn't have much to do with the topic but:
I didn't like Stairway To Heaven at first, it sounded really boring to my ears. And I tried many times, but I couldn't really enjoy listening to it although I knew it was a good song, a great composition and there was a great work behind it. So I sort of stopped listening to it, but I came back after. And I loved it, I think I never enjoyed listening to a song so much. It was like listening to it for the very first time. I don't know if you like Stairway or not, maybe you think that it's an overrated piece of garbage like many people do, but what I mean is that there's still a lot of time for me to discover new things and change my opinion 'bout music I didn't get before. I used to think I was never going to like The Wall, but here I am listening to it almost everyday while doing homework!
I think Hawk makes some really good points about the Velvet Underground and I also think what you're saying here makes a lot of sense.
Even if you don't really get it yet, it's nice to have heard some of those classics like VU already because it makes you familiar with the bigger picture of music. Don't worry about when you'll get into it (don't try to make homework of it lol) but exactly like you sais, just come back to it when you feel like it after having heard lots of things in the meantime, and odds are you'll love it!

Yes, Odessey and Oracle is exactly what I'm going to listen to next, don't know The Zombies very well, but "She's Not There" is one of the best songs from the 60s imo, it's even on my daily playlist! And thank you very much for sending the "Are You Experienced" link, I can finally listen to a whole Jimi Hendrix album, this is gonna be the happiest day of my life lol
I'm glad the link works! She's Not There is an amazing song. Odessey and Oracle sounds a little bit different: it's more psychedelic. It's not very experimental though, at least not like the Velvet Underground, and it has the most gorgeous melodies.

If you want something that you're likely to love because it's familiar to what you already like, I'd say the Byrds. But I also think going kind of with the order of recs and doing the Monks next could be nice. It depends on whether you want something familiar or new next, you might want to alternate between those two.

I already gave you you’re assignment

Yes it is like homework. She’s gotta be fully versed in punk and post-punk and hip hop, art rock and art pop, by the time she’s 16 to be on track.

No offense Ms. Rigby but you’re actually behind schedule. You gotta be full force when you’re still a teen to really feel the lightning in your veins.

Just to know, is Odessey and Oracle's style similar to another album(s) from musicians that have been mentioned in this thread?
The Byrds are cool: Mr Tambourine Man, Turn!, Turn!, Turn!, and...oh wait I don't know anything else from them, so that's a good recommendation.

They're not very similar to any of the bands mentioned here; actually one of the reasons I picked them is that they fit in with the bands you mentioned, but at the same time they're very unique. I guess you could compare them with the Beach Boys and the Kinks because of how melodious they are, but like I said they're a bit more psychedelic and very gentle (although they definitely don't sound as trippy as Jimi Hendrix)

Because you have to rage when you’re young before Father Time beats it out of you.
