Default Upandouts Writings

Howdy folks, pretty new to this thread only browsed around it a little before. I'll bear in mind posting this that I owe it to you all to make an effort to get involved so I look forward to the banter that awaits me! Peace

Here is the bones of the lyrics for a song I am hoping to start recording with a friend in the next few weeks.

Bligh St.

Living full of loathing, till those lullabies
Eschewing all your priests, shamans. Rabbis
Useless metal scraps hide love gone by
Three bedrooms in a good neighbourhood
Twisting over, turning up and walking out
Never been so free to care less about it all
Never been so enslaved, chained up against the wall
I can’t see for all the clouds
I can’t speak for shouting out loud
Don’t see, go home
Don’t speak, go home
(I’m out here all alone)

Indulgent evenings learning to inhale
Procul Harum; A Whiter Shade of Pale
It’s not for keeps, it’s just for now
Just a passing cocoon of melancholy blues
A trumpet somewhere and then you’re there
Jazz club, Hoxton, London, it’s behind you,
It’s a reminder, backs up against the wall
I can’t see for all the clouds
I can’t speak for shouting out loud
Don’t see, go home
Don’t speak, go home
(I’m out here all alone)

Another one I have been working on here. The slashes just indicate instrumental interludes. Leaving them in as I like the way it breaks the lyrics up. Any feedback would be much appreciated. I've always enjoyed writing. Essays in school, university paper, short stories etc sort of branching into lyrics and songs now so any thoughts at all, just spout'em.

Doldrums
It’s gone on too long
You come on too strong
////////////////////
Your ****’s ****ed up
Warren Zevon’s, gone
///////////////////
Auto tuned miseries
Poppy rock re-release
/////
This has gone on for far too long
I won’t believe John is gone way for good
Insisting nothing’s really wrong, you’re wrong
//////////////////////
/////////////////////
Grey skies outpour
Clamouring for more
//////////////////////
I’ve gotta run
I’ve gotta run away
////////////////////
Trudging through, trudging on through
It’s up to you, it’s really up to you
Insisting nothing’s really wrong, you’re wrong
///////////////////////
//////////////////////
Loss is joy unknown
Never reap what you’ve sown
////////////////////
But pain is still free
It’s what pains you and me
////////////////////
Just another bite, sting, scratch and tear
You tear it all away
It grows, it grows, it grows too much to bear
You tear it all away
You tear it all away

Just the body of another idea here. As always any feedback much appreciated.

Kent Station

Out beyond that great wall
By that sad little playground
And all those scratched up children
And all those tracksuited women
Down by the train station, after the tunnel
Just up o’er that ledge above the sign
And all those scrapped up dinners
And all those clapped up sinners
They’re there, drinking from stolen cans
Scratching out little betting slips
And all those lonely babies
And all those maybe, maybe’s
Corner shop lottery ticket please
John Player blues and a gossip magazine
And all those shot up brothers
And all those sobbing mothers
Glaring, burning eyes at those strange faces
Clapped out bangers and boy racers
And all those losing faith
And all those chasing hate
Social welfare queues in the morning
Pubs packed out in the evening
And all those loving Cowell more
And all those heading for door.

And another, having a productive evening thusfar

Jiltism 25/1

Your just screaming, don’t cry
You know I’ll never, ask why
I don’t wanna see, your tears
Never going to know, your fears

You’re just muddled, you’re the fool
I am just blind, maybe I’m the fool
Never knowing
Never Knew
Don’t know now
What did you do?

I don’t want, answers now
I’ve just forgotten somehow
Looks like roses, bed of nails
You were the cat with nine tails

I didn’t care, for the naive charms
The empty head, and you’re dull mind

Never knowing
Never Knew
Don’t know now
What did you do?
