man if the twolves can land alex schved, nic batum and steisma i will be a happy camper.

Assuming rubio comes back healthy i think we are a conference contender. We got the perfect team for adelman's 3 corner offense

debaserr 07-11-2012 07:03 PM

Holy shiot, Brook Lopez got a max contract. He grabs under 5 rebounds a game.

DWIGHT FOR LA.

As long as he goes SOMEWHERE else its all good.

Sparky 07-16-2012 08:13 PM

not surprised at all by knicks letting lin go. I thought it was a cute cinderalla story but he has a lot of noticeable flaws in his game, can't believe houston gave him that contract.

Also the USA team looked very beatable tonight. Brazil was up the first quarter and got a lot of what they wanted.

Lin will, at the very least, be marketable in terms of merchandising. Teams get a lot of money on that too. His jersey came in #2 during the peak of Linsanity.

but yes, the guy has more turnovers than assists but then again, he's a sophomore.

i know i know... people will say Rondo, Rose, and Nash didn't have that much turn over even during their rookie year.

i agree though, that's a lot of money. Knicks will have to pay $1.75 per every dollar they pay the guy. not worth it

debaserr 07-17-2012 09:01 PM

At least he is going to a place where he will get touches. I think people are starting to underrate him a bit. I hope he can play well.

But he won't be marketable if he doesn't produce though (who is that kid that came out of China a few years ago?).

I'm pretty sure the Knicks passed on him because CP3 is headed there after this season.

chipper 07-18-2012 05:46 PM

well there this.

the article claims that a source said James Dolan decided not to match Houston's offer because felt "betrayed" and "hurt" by Lin's decision to even consider Houston.

the article claims it's not based on financial or statistical reason. Dolan simply felt betrayed.

not sure how reliable the writer is.

Sparky 07-18-2012 05:55 PM

who knows anything is possible with the knicks management

It seems likely howard is heading to LA. This effectively kills all the likability for the team that steve nash gained.

Just curious if anyone would care to name the worst lakers team kobe won a title with? I've only recently regained interest in the past couple seasons.

I have a feeling the Lakers will stand pat now. They picked up Antawn Jamison for added scoring. I feel like Bynum is not really much of a step down from Howard when you look at it by the numbers. Is Howard better? Likely. I don't feel hes a substantial upgrade when Bynum plays well, but thats always been the problem, Bynums consistency can't match Howard over the long haul.

debaserr 07-19-2012 10:35 AM

The #1 reason to get Howard is defense. Bynum is absolutely TERRIBLE on help, while Howard has proven over and over that he is excellent at it.

LA desperately needs him. I just hope Orlando doesn't drag their feet forever.

Bynum has spurts of good defense, but I can certainly see the point. Bynum also is extremely lazy getting back on the break as is Gasol. I just hope if this trade goes through that Howards back will hold up after the surgery. Thats the one concern i would have in the swap, its clear Howard is the most dominant big man in the game overall, when healthy.

debaserr 07-19-2012 10:40 AM

You concern for LA is HOWARDS health? We are shipping away Bynum sir...

I tend to think Bynums knee is gonna hold up. He had very good numbers last year overall. Howard's back could come back to haunt who ever picks him up, its certainly plausible. I always have flashbacks of Larry Bird laying down on the sidelines when i think back surgery. I'm not discounting Howard hes a tremendous specimen, but I think evaluating his back should certainly be a major concern before a trade.

debaserr 07-19-2012 10:49 AM

There's no reason to believe that anyone should be more concerned about Howard's health compared to Bynum.

Andrew played last season and averaged 18 a game and over 10 rebounds. Dwight had back surgery. Something doesn't add up here.

debaserr 07-19-2012 10:55 AM

I assume you are familiar with the injury history of both players. I have nothing to add.

If you see it that way, fine.

Sparky 07-19-2012 02:09 PM

in other news **** the portland trailblazers have fun over paying batum the next 3 years assholes

twolves need to land courtney lee desperately

chipper 07-19-2012 07:12 PM

aaaaaaand Grand Hill to Clippers

Sparky 07-19-2012 08:12 PM

clippers looking pretty good. healthy chauncey returning, odom, and bledsoe probably being better.

With vinny as the coach still don't see them getting far in the playoffs

debaserr 07-19-2012 08:18 PM

I don't expect much from Billups, but Odom and Bledsoe should help a lot.

Having said that, I really don't like the FA pickups of Hill / Crawford (he's decent, but not gonna make a huge difference / this kid plays no D).

Sparky 07-21-2012 03:25 PM

the wolves signed steisma yesssss

Sparky 07-25-2012 07:47 PM

My all white t-wolves squad is fastly becoming a reality!! :)

steisma, schved and now andre kirilenko.

A 2012 NBA team with no black starters and 2 bench players in wesley johnson and derrick williams, though the brandon roy signing is imminent.

We are really gonna do it i can't wait

debaserr 07-25-2012 07:52 PM

And all of those black guys suck!

Sparky 07-25-2012 07:54 PM

wes johnson does for certain, derrick still shows some promise.

and you said so yourself, brandon roy isn't likely to be the same player as before.

white people are gonna win at basketball its gonna be great

Edit: nevermind i guess we traded wes for andre.

So make that 1 black guy on the team right now!!

Franco Pepe Kalle 07-25-2012 09:29 PM

I do hope that Minnesota Timberwolves can become a playoff team for once. We have not been a playoff team since 2004.

debaserr 08-09-2012 08:46 PM

Holy shit the Lakers have had a good offseason:

http://i.imgur.com/4mwgA.png

This is gonna be awesome.

Sparky 08-09-2012 09:43 PM

nothing a team of white people with a system in place can't dismantle

who's gonna come off the bench for la? Nash and Kobe will give you 30 some minutes

debaserr 08-09-2012 09:52 PM

Kobe played ~39m last year.

The bench isn't amazing, but I'm confident this makes them contenders.

They would crush Minny in a series...

Sparky 08-09-2012 10:06 PM

your lucky we weren't able to sign batum, could send him in and finish nash's career and lineage with 1 mighty blow!

People are already lining El Segundo for the parade. :drummer: I think the Lakers at least just became as good as OKC. Can't wait to see how it works out. I wasn't down with this trade if it included Gasol, lucky for Lakers fans it didn't. Nash is gonna be pick and rolling teams to death with Howard. Health permitting the Lakers should make the finals next year.

YorkeDaddy 08-10-2012 01:33 PM

They'll still lose to the Thunder. js.

debaserr 08-10-2012 01:41 PM

It's officially too early to make proclamations like that.

Thom Yorke 08-10-2012 01:45 PM

The NBA keeps getting more and more uninteresting. Seriously considering dropping every dime I have on a Heat/Lakers final, no matter what the odds are (most likely 1/1 anyways). And then you even have the Thunder guaranteed in the WCF with the Lakers.

Really hope the league does something about it. The NBA was a no-parity league before these dream teams, now it's just getting ridiculous.

debaserr 08-10-2012 02:02 PM

It's a good thing, the NBA has always been at it's best when there have been dominant teams.

Russell's Celtics, Larry/Magic, Jordan, etc etc.

thats why the twolves are the only team to root for. We don't have one guy who can do a crossover until rubio comes back

Dr_Rez 08-11-2012 01:11 AM

Dwight Howard on the lakers?????!!

derek 08-19-2012 01:50 PM

Lakers won't get past the Spurs even, much less OKC...Howard isn't much of an improvement over Bynum..

debaserr 08-19-2012 02:00 PM

You need to watch more basketball.

Sparky 08-19-2012 04:14 PM

one injury to their core 3

thats all the lakers need to be done

Same can be said about any team. Lebron out and Miami goes to the finals? No. Durant or Westbrook and OKC makes the finals? No San Antonio loses Duncan, Manu or Parker and they even win one round? No. Look what happened to the Bulls last year.
