I saw that..embarassing to watch. I actually felt bad for him when that happened after the crowds reaction.

Sparky 01-26-2013 05:19 PM

you can't say la didn't show up at least once this season after the utah match

Bloozcrooz 01-27-2013 02:32 PM

Howard today so far is one out of 8 at the free throw line...like really man? Wtf? I will say the rest of the team looks as if they are starting to click and mesh well, and even Kobe is playing les selfish ball. But Howard HAS to do something about his free throw shooting.

Also saw this commercial earlier and thought it was pretty funny.

Sparky 01-27-2013 05:31 PM

i don't think howard has to fix his free throw shooting-yes obviously it would make him way better, but all they really need him to do is get boards which inexplicably he hasn't been doing.

didn't catch todays game but i am actually happy for the lakers

my timberpups just lost back to back to the wizards and the bobcats, seasons over. Rondo is out for the year too so i might as well root for the lakers-them and portland

Bloozcrooz 01-27-2013 05:57 PM

Lakers actually pulled it off today and did so in a solid performance. I would say at this point Howard is the weak link on the team. Gasol's passing was on point as well as Kobe's and of course as always Nash. Kobe had 21 points or so with 14 assists and 9 boards. But his biggest shot came with under a minute left when he hit a fade away from just under the top of the key to put them out of reach. I was really impressd with him givin up the rock though and I think it confused the thunder a lot that he did. Overall good execution and ball movement and actually did decent on the deffensive side of the ball as well.

Sparky 01-27-2013 06:06 PM

Howard would be a nice weak link to have haha

Bloozcrooz 01-27-2013 06:26 PM

Yeah no doubt, but I'm just thinking of how good they could be if he lived up to the expectations they had when they signed him.

Sparky 01-27-2013 06:44 PM

he's still working through the injury right? or was that just media empathy? Either way he can only improve(hopefully)

The weakest link for the lakers to me is the bench. I don't know who comes in and gives you a boost off that bench, it sure as hell isn't antwon jamison

Sparky 01-30-2013 10:24 PM

watching kobe throw dimes like this is a real treat. Why didn't he think it would be a good idea to do this earlier in his career?

debaserr 01-31-2013 12:28 AM

Why did they stop playing in the 4th. This team really annoys me. I especially hate D'antoni.

I cant believe how uninspired these guys look. D'antoni should call Phil Jackson now and beg him to come back, because this team needs some direction badly.

Sparky 01-31-2013 12:19 PM

They looked good all the way up until dwight came out.

Don't really blame d'antoni, blame the lakers management for hiring him. Your talking about a coach with a completely different offense, and who quit out on his own team-the knicks-just a year ago. Look at how much better they played after his departure. His record speaks for itself. They should have known what they were getting into.

debaserr 01-31-2013 12:24 PM

We would so be over .500 with Phil right now. Hopefully last night was just a blip, it was a back to back.

Bloozcrooz 02-01-2013 09:41 PM

Lakers led by as much as 29 points tonight and have let it dwindle down to 4 here in the 4rth. The only adjustment the T-Wolves had to make was to switch to a zone and it has the Lakers dumbfounded.

Well they finished up winning by 11 but I was worried for a minute. Either way a wins a win I guess.....

Sparky 02-05-2013 08:08 PM

I fux wit kobe this year he went off tonight

Bloozcrooz 02-05-2013 08:21 PM

Kobe showed late in the game tonight why he's Kobe Bryant. Almost in every game though late in the game he does that. That dunk between two guys though that sparked that 10 point run they went on to close out the game was fun to watch.

Kobe should be driving the hoop alot more. It draws open looks for teammates and will get him to the free throw line more often. I gotta say the Lakers have looked more poised without Howard in the lineup, but I sure wish he would assimilate and become a force again in the paint.

debaserr 02-06-2013 09:36 AM

Have you been watching the Lakers this year? Kobe's great shooting numbers can be largely attributed to his eagerness to get to the rim.

PS: He can't do it all night.

I've watched every game but one. I'd have to disagree and say he settles for far too many jump shots. His shots near the paint are far too frequent for my taste. He should be able to do it all night, what kind of an excuse is that.

debaserr 02-06-2013 09:53 AM

You can't do the same thing all night, the defense will start stopping you.

He's old as ****, he doesn't have the legs to do it all night. Try not to forget how effective of a passer and shooter he is.

That was partly my point albeit I didn't say it. When hes driving the hoop he creates alot of good looks for his teammates. Granted its been a small stretch and he has been on a streak of driving the hoop more recently. I will never defend a guy with hes old, hes out on the floor because hes a leader and all star. I just want the old look Lakers back, but I understand they're hindered by a somewhat lackluster roster. If they make the playoffs i'd be happy but its still not a guarantee. I'm not knocking Kobe in anyway hes still the best option on the roster by a longshot and the only guy capable of carrying the team for stretches.

Bloozcrooz 02-06-2013 12:46 PM

Kobe like all great players when they start to age start takin more jumpers. He still has the ability to go to the rim but most times quickly draws double teams. Only this year he's actually being less selfish with the rock and dishing it off to the open guy more often. As opposed to trying to do it by hisself the whole game like in the past. I dont think you can expect him to the run the floor like Lebron or KD, his prime has passed. But in the 4rth when it has really counted he usually finds that burst of energy and takes control of the game single handedly. His numbers as of late havent been really high points but more evenly distributed all around. His assists, rebounds, and points. I mean lets face it, when the rest of the team is struggling and Kobe ends up with 40+ points, we usually lose. I think the formula they have been using as of late is simple and working for them. Be patient, spread the floor, look for the mismatch and work the ball from the inside out.

debaserr 02-06-2013 12:47 PM

Probably more to the point: What more do you expect from this dude? He's playing the best he has in years.

Actually he was averaging more a game last year. And the subsequent years previous to that he was very close to the same averages. Regardless dude is having a great year. My point was him being aggressive and going to the hoop and not settling for jumpers is a huge boost to the offense when hes up to it.

Sparky 02-06-2013 05:15 PM

If kobe isn't going to the rim who else is going to? It's probably the best thing he can do on the offense, everyone else is already a spot up shooter

Bloozcrooz 02-06-2013 05:52 PM

Like I said earlier, I think he's been drivin the lane to the basket plenty. What they have been doin has been workin so I would'nt tamper with it to much. The only thing I think they could use more of is Howards offense when he's in the paint. Of course though, he's going to draw an immediate foul most times, and then miss both free throws.

Bloozcrooz 02-07-2013 06:59 PM

Lakers are down by 15....and Howards back in the line up.....

Sparky 02-09-2013 11:32 AM

bron bron is shooting at 55.9%, noice

I just turned it on after half. They are getting pounded. The commentators are just talking about how much Howard is sucking. Its 80 to 60 :(

Bloozcrooz 02-14-2013 10:28 PM

Figured. Thats why I quit watching and Howard does suck imo.

Beginning to look like a Miami repeat. I hate repeats unless its the Lake show. The Lakers look like dog**** on parquee. I'm past blaming Howard, this whole team sucks. I'll give Earl Clark a pass though hes been a pleasant surprise.

Sparky 03-05-2013 12:26 PM

la's back at .500

stronger team, la or boston right now?

I'd lean towards Boston, they have a better system I believe. The Lakers still have a shot at the playoffs, but I fear they would be one and done in the playoffs. The Celtics seem to have guys that thrive in the playoffs so I'd give them a slight advantage for overall quality.

Sparky 03-05-2013 01:44 PM

yeah but la seems like they keep progressing even if its very slowly and full of missteps. boston seems more like an old freight train that any small nudge could have it coming to a crash though they're solid right now
