Good news. FINALLY, Los Angeles Lakers are actually on the Playoff race. I am so happy for them. They are a good team. Go Lakers. You got Dwight Howard and Kobe Bryant. Go Lakers.

Who ****ing cares they wont make it past first round.

The heat on the other hand just became the 4th team ever to get 20 wins in a row.

13 to go. The Heat look really strong. I think they're a lock for the repeat if their core three stay healthy. The Lakers still have to fight off Utah for the last slot and I heard Kobe might be out indefinitely on the morning news?

Sparky 04-14-2013 04:42 PM

too bad about kobe. I guess tonight we'll find out if the lakers really feel like going to the playoffs, the refs can get you 3/4 of the way there but you still gotta play a little good basketball eh.

debaserr 04-14-2013 05:01 PM

They have exactly no chance without Nash unless Howard morphs into Shaq overnight.

Sparky 04-14-2013 09:53 PM

who needs nash when you got blake right? am i right?

seriously tho good game, playoffs might be a little more interesting if lakers get to play spurs

debaserr 04-27-2013 09:42 AM

I wanna have a drink with MWP:

On Washington Wizards center Jason Collins' decision to announce that he is gay -- "You should be free to act and do what you want to do as long as it's not violent, no matter what it is. I came here in a Cookie Monster shirt because I wanted to. And I was going to wear the pants, but I thought you guys were going to judge me. And I was going to wear the hat too, but I figured you guys were going to judge me and I didn't want Mitch to judge me. So that's why I didn't wear the hat and the pants, but I should have wore it. You should be free to do and act how you want to act.

:p: No doubt about that. I'll bet he seriously has the whole cookie monster outfit also. LOL

Just wanted to say what's up to all my Lakers fans!

*crickets*

Helloo?

debaserr 05-01-2013 04:39 PM

Sup. Why didn't Nash convince the head PHX trainer to come with him when he left?

billyblaze 05-01-2013 04:42 PM

Dude, I dunno...maybe he felt anger when he left? Who wouldn't want to go to LA, from hellish PHX.

Clippers are gonna get punked by Memphis.

I'm rooting for Memphis and Indiana...

Yeah me too. Atlanta doesn't look half bad though.

Meh, you may be right. With the series going to Memphis...Clips may be planning their summer fishing trips soon.

Conley has amazed me with his play vs Paul. If Paul can get his game back together that series isn't over just yet. Its been one of the better series to watch in general.

True that, they are pretty evenly matched.

Ass Napkin Ed 05-01-2013 08:31 PM

I really thought the knicks would win

Sparky 05-01-2013 11:16 PM

Clippers play soft thats why they haven't been getting any second chance hoops. They need griffen healthy it seems, i'm surprised at how inept everyone was at covering randolph with no less credit to him, he's great player.

billyblaze 05-02-2013 01:56 PM

I'm thinking the Nets are next to be out. Bulls need to close that...

Sparky 05-08-2013 05:50 PM

you gotta love this bulls team, it's a shame they don't have deng and heinrech or else this series might, somehow, potentially be up for grabs, but give chicago credit for delaying the inevitable this long.

debaserr 05-08-2013 07:20 PM

lol your comments after this game

Sparky 05-09-2013 08:31 AM

chicago is still going to take it to 6 which is saying something considering their roster(specifically lack of a true point guard)

Yup, Rose is STILL sitting on the bench with his $5,000 suit...and I see the Heat having a challenge ahead, despite the pounding that was executed last night.

Hopefully these dudes can maintain, and NOT get ejected.

FRED HALE SR. 05-17-2013 11:04 AM

Looks like Indiana and Miami in the East should be a decent Eastern Final. Really hoping Memphis can pull the upset against San Antonio. Still thinking Miami takes it all again. What happen to this thread?

Paul Smeenus 05-17-2013 12:39 PM

I really don't follow the NBA at all but I'm extremely satisfied that the Thunder are out.

If Memphis does manage to get past the Spurs, they will be quickly dispatched by Miami, which will fortify my distaste for the NBA. Since 1980, there have been 20 different World Series champions, 16 Stanley Cup champions, 16 Super Bowl winners, and only 9 NBA champs, and two of those, Philadelphia and Dallas, only have one, and Houston's two during Michael Jordan's stint in minor league baseball, leaving the Lakers, Celtics, Pistons, Bulls, Spurs and Heat. I hate that about the NBA.

Of course if, as I expect, San Antonio and Miami meet in the finals, this trend is guaranteed.

I lost interest after the Lakers and Stephen Curry both got knocked out of the running

Thom Yorke 05-22-2013 04:11 PM

I kind of agree with Paul Smeenus about this. I like the sport but it's tough to watch sometimes because there is next to no parity in the league. I mean, why would I watch a series between let's say the Nuggets and Warriors when I know that neither of them have a chance at winning it all? It's basically just delaying the inevitable. And that's in the West, where you don't even have to worry about how dominant the Heat are until the Finals. And I actually really like LeBron and the Heat. It just takes a lot out of it when you can call what happens before the playoffs start (or sometimes even before the season starts).

Pwwfff, I like this trend, and I'll tell you why.

See, back in the 90s my dad guided a bunch of out of state folks for various game, mostly pheasants. One of them was a former General Manager for the Spurs, who - when I was sitting in the truck with him and my dad - handed me a hat David Robinson had received during the '96 All Star game at San Antonio, which was autographed by Robinson. I guess players only get ten of this hats or something per All Star game.

So, yeah, go Spurs. Dominate the league forever. I want that hat to increase in value, goddamnit.

Sparky 05-25-2013 04:19 PM

i like how sportscasters keep trying to profess james as "one of the all time great finishers" only to later on watch him turn the ball over twice in the last minute or so.

He's still the best player bar none, its just clear that the whole center stage thing is not his game. The buzzer beater layup is hard to give him too much credit for.

I think a finals with the grizzlies/heat would be neato. I think the big vs small battle would be extra potent with those two squads but spurs/heat will suffice too.

Apparently nobody is watching the grizzlies/spurs games, viewership down 40% from last years conference finals.

Thom Yorke 05-28-2013 01:41 PM

Yeah, that was pretty brutal by James to close it out there. He missed a 3 just before those turnovers as well. I disagree with you saying the center stage thing isn't his game though. He does have a great track record for closing out games.

Indiana is going to lose this serious. They will not win. It will be Miami Heat.
