Oh yeah it was just a rumor, I forgot to update my first post with that.

Kobe did an interview a couple days ago though, and he was noticeably hesitant to support D'antoni.

He's clearly gotten better again this year, which is just unreal...

Scored 25 points in a single quarter today, a career high, and against his old team nonetheless.

i hated him on the cavs and now even more on the heat MUHAHAHAHAHAAH!

CP3 and the clippers all day long

NBA needs to get rid of conferences.

The biggest reason I think we should do this is because of the number of good teams in the east and west.

There are only two really good teams in the East, but the West has the Thunder, Spurs, Rockets, Clippers, and Trail Blazers (Aldridge is back now), all of which could at least win their conference in the playoffs.

Also, the west currently has 5 teams below .500, and the east has 9!

I think we should keep divisions, but conferences seriously need to go.

The fact that Brooklyn, Washington, Charlotte, and Atlanta will all probably be in the playoffs despite them all (currently) having below .500 records, but that fact that Dallas may not get in despite having a record above .500 is absurd.

All 8 teams in the west will probably have above .500 records, and the east meanwhile will have at least 3 teams that have lost half of their games.

The first seed in the East pretty much comes down to tonight.

Yeah, I can't wait. The Pacers benched their entire starting lineup on Wednesday, they're pretty determined.

Wade's out though, along with Oden. Andersen may be out too.

YorkeDaddy 04-11-2014 08:07 PM

Whelp, it really wasn't even close!

Lol, I stopped watching at the 5 minute mark in the 4th.

I believe the Heat showed their playoff caliber defense in that game. Chalmers was everywhere that game, he had to have had like five steals that game, if not more. He had like 10 deflections.

Apparently resting the starters did not make much of a difference at all. Hibbert was TERRIBLE, George missed like all of his threes in the fourth quarter, Hill was awful and I don't even think he scored, and West, Hibbert, and George picked up a ton of fouls.

Also the Heat torched the Pacer's defense. You're right, it wasn't even close.

YorkeDaddy 04-11-2014 09:08 PM

As a Heat fan it was a great confidence-booster. Indiana looked completely lost, I don't know how a team that's playing that bad can even get back on track...

So with Dwyane Wade back the Heat lose to the HAWKS after that sensational beatdown last night of the Pacers.

At least Wade was an unstoppable force today though so was Jeff Teague. First game back for Wade on the first play he blocks a shot, then dunks at the other end. I think he made all of his shots except maybe 2 or 3.

Wpnfire 04-19-2014 07:00 PM

Pacers down to Atlanta by 18 right now. Wow.

YorkeDaddy 04-19-2014 07:13 PM

Good, can't stand the Pacers.

Why can you not stand them? Also, they lost.

Also, the Thunder be slaying the Grizzlies right now. Durant just had a SICK dunk.

Also also, this was a great day of basketball.

Also also also, the GM for the Raptors said "F Brookyln" at a pre-game rally today lol. Masai Ujiri, Toronto Raptors general manager, shouts expletive at Brooklyn Nets - ESPN

Well as anyone who knows me knows I vastly prefer the NHL to the NBA, but I do wanna shout out for my Trailblazers for winning their opener in Houston, in gutsy fashion. Lamarcus Aldridge and Damian Lillard came up gigantic. I still don't think there's more than three or four teams that have a realistic chance at playing in the finals (which is the number one problem I have with the NBA) but it's nice to see Portland at least not suck for a change.

That was an amazing game as was all of the first round games. I'm glad to see Thomas Robinson found a good fit in Portland.

Also, the Knicks fired their entire coaching staff today.

This is usually the case, but from what I can see things are way different this year. The Spurs nearly lost to the Mavericks, the Pacers lost to the Hawks, the Warriors beat the Clippers...it's only one game in each series but there were upsets all over the place this weekend. I think it's a given we'll see Miami in the Eastern Conference Finals, but other than that it's way more up in the air than usual.

Paul Smeenus 04-21-2014 10:53 PM

I'll quote myself from earlier in this thread, amended to account for recent events

I hate that about the NBA.

Six teams, 34 years. :(

YorkeDaddy 04-22-2014 09:27 AM

^ Can't argue with that, I agree it's an issue. It's because the NBA is a star-driven league really, so whichever team has the best player will by default win a championship eventually and no one can really do anything about it.

Indeed! I can't believe there's a possibility that two number 1 seeds could lose today.

butthead aka 216 05-04-2014 12:16 AM

Picked the 3 correct winners today

The best teams come thru in do or die

Still think miami is cruising to a title

butthead aka 216 05-06-2014 04:48 AM

what a great playoffs

brooklyn vs miami

KG and pierce battle lebron AGAIN. gonna be sooo intense

and every west matchup is terrific too. thunder got owned by the clips last nite.

hibbert had a nice 0 point 0 rebound game in game 1 lol. and hes an all star.... wtf

Chris Paul forgot to take off his warmup jersey when the game started. 8 threes last night...
Hard to believe he had a sore hamstring too.

Absolutely psyched for the Heat-Nets game.

butthead aka 216 05-06-2014 01:11 PM

i hate cp3 but ive said this about him a long time - he needs to look to score more

i realize hes ones of the best assist men of his generation but he is lethal when he is lookin to score. judging by game 1 i think he realizes he might need to do this a little more often. every clips game i watch he goes into scoring mode in crunch time and he is just unstoppable

I'm not sure CP likes to be aggressive though. It's like asking why LeBron doesn't post up more–though LeBron is actually on record saying "There's nothing fun about it.." when talking about posting up–I don't really watch the Clippers that much so I'm not sure if CP3 is the same way.

hes too small to post up, i was thinkin more about his step back jumper which he always seems to hit. he just seems money when he shoots. blake got a lot better this year and they have wings like Reddick and Barnes who snipe threes in the corner but last night when cp3 was on fire he just totally took over the game and i think he could do that more. bron posts up a lot more now than he used to but its still not a big part of his game. but bron has been to 4 finals so he knows what works. i think maybe cp3 should stay aggressive and look to score, maybe it could take the clips to the finals

Moss 05-06-2014 04:05 PM

I would love a Clippers/Miami final. Actually I would love a Clippers/anybody but Miami final but I have to be realistic.

Before the playoffs you probably could have said Clippers/Pacers final, but of course that seems slightly ridiculous now, considering they were almost upset in the first round.

butthead aka 216 05-07-2014 05:12 PM

Its that time of the yr again where everyone remembers how awesome the spurs are and how smooth they are at making bball at the highest level look incredibly easy

Wpnfire 05-07-2014 05:47 PM

Woooooooooooooow. Great job media, taking things out of context.

LeBron James says the Heat didn’t play well enough for him to win MVP | For The Win

Moss 05-07-2014 10:08 PM

I was glad to see they made the right choice for MVP.
Wow Clippers are getting about the same beat down Portland got right now.

butthead aka 216 05-08-2014 05:51 AM

Predictable outcomes yestersay. Durants mvp speech should ve seen by all fans. So genuine. U could tell it meant a real lot to him

Yeah. It was great to see how he spent the entire time talking about everyone but himself. He is a class act.

Wpnfire 05-10-2014 11:49 PM

Heat got stomped. LeBron straight up disappeared in the second half.

Also, yikes Paul, your Blazers are getting their ***** handed to them.

No idea why they didn't foul. That was a big mistake.
