Obviously it's early, but they may be the best team this year. At least it appears that way so far. They have possibly the best D in the league and their offense is clicking.

My Bucs choked like a two dollar whore against the Giants last week. We had them but let Manning come back with a monster game. Bastard torched us for over 500 yards.

The best teams are usually the ones clicking in the last few weeks of the regular season (IE: Giants).

The 49ers are the best built team in football outside of the QB position. The defense is unbelievable, but they finally added enough to the receiving core to the running game and o-line to make the offense a legitimate weapon.

Still though, I'm not convinced with Alex Smith. He's reliable, and very effective with short-intermediate range passes, but the guy just doesn't go long, albeit he hasn't needed to yet. Still, if the 49ers find themselves down big, I'm not convinced he can lead them back. Moss can still act as a deep threat even at this age, so that option is there.

Anyways, I still think they're the best team. They'll find themselves leading more often than not, and that team is built to play with a lead (strong running game and a great short-mid range passing attack).

I will give you the D.

The rest, not so much. Gore is overdue for an injury.

Moss has been done for years, and I don't see how you could be convinced of that given the evidence from these two weeks. Keep in mind Brady is one of the best at chucking the long ball (you just derided Smith about the same skill), and that 07 season was special with the two, but it really hasn't been replicated since. The Pats let him go for basically nothing.

so how soon are the refs coming back?

that green bay seattle game had the most penalty yards in the past decade.

debaserr 09-24-2012 10:16 PM

Probably when the refs cave, the NFL execs/owners are dicks.

Wicked Weasel 09-24-2012 10:25 PM

I was pulling for Seattle but have to admit the Packers were robbed. Jennings clearly had that ball when they fell to the ground on the final play.

Refs missed a great game.
