I don't know about you but a blow out isn't worth watching.

I was convinced early in the season, but not anymore. Alex Smith can't handle good D-LINES. Green Bay or the Giants will take them out in the playoffs. Until Smith is reading defenses better and stops checking down on every play i'm not gonna be convinced with the 9ers. I love their defense but i'm not a real fan of Smith at this point. When he came out I thought he would be a real beast, but Utah's gimmick offense hasn't served him well in learning the ins and outs of the NFL. MOSS was wide open in the end zone last night and he checked down and threw a horrible pick. As it stands they are gonna have to rely on Gore to get them anywhere.

They also killed the Jets and Bills, proving they can score.

SF is just so good all around defensively, and even when they are mediocre offensively, the defense can give them more chances by forcing quick three-and-outs.

I haven't been following them closely enough I guess then. I did watch them put up a paltry 3 points against the giants, they barely squeaked out a TD last night. 49ers are consistently awful in the red zone.

The fact that they have to put in colin kaeperick to give to give their offense any sort of life isn't reassuring to me.

Their D is good but have they had a comeback yet?

Meh, everyone has their moments you know? Like look at payton manning. He was down what? 20+ points the first half and then blew them away in the second, right? It's all about adapting and I think Smith is getting his adapting legs on. Just keep watching I'm sure you'll start to see.

Uh Smith has been in the NFL since 2005. When does he begin to adapt even slightly? There is a reason that SF was in the Peyton Manning sweepstakes. I'm not sure I will see anything different then I already have. As I said Smith comes from a gimmick offense and has been thrown into a west coast borefest. He is an average qb at best. Keep watching.

Sounds like a plan. On that note how do you feel about the Saints? Do you think they will recover?

The Saints have the exact opposite problem of the 9ers, No defense. I don't see them doing very much damage honestly. The NFC is a really tough call currently, there are several above average teams with issues on either side of the ball. The most complete team you'd have to give to Atlanta even if they survived a few close call games. But GB or the Giants would out game plan them in a playoff game. I'd have to throw the Bears and 9ers in the mix but they over rely on their defenses. The NFC is wide open in the regular season, but The Giants and GB always turn it up come playoff time, so i'd pick one of the two to win the NFC.

I thought that game was at home for the 9ers? Was it not played at candlestick? Again their bread and butter is Gore, 16 carries for 131 yards and caught 5 passes for 51 yards. But imagine them with a Aaron Rodgers or Tom Brady like QB....The possibilities are endless with the of talent they have on offense that they can not fully utilize cause of Smiths incapabilitys.

So those are your only 2 teams?

Am I missing something here? Didn't I just say that?

Yes that game was at Candlestick. 9ers would be lights out with any above average qb. Smith doesn't have the excuses anymore, its time for him to elevate his game or become a career backup.
