On SD you have LT able to finally cut which he hadnt been able to do the entire season. You have 2 WRs that are amazing, Chambers and Jackson. I told everyone preseason Jackson was going to be an animal and sure enough he has been. Last playoff he averaged 100 yards per playoff game and had 2 tds in 3 games. The last 3 games he had averages 116 yards per game. The game vs broncos he had 70 total yards on the first 10 plays and then never got the ball.. not sure why. Also coming out of the AFC I forsee Colts being the "favorite" which SD has been able to beat the majority of the times. Outside of the Ravens I don't forsee any team giving SD a challenge.

When considering the NFC its simple, Is Brandon Jacobs (should be NFL MVP) playing or not. If the answer is yes then Giants win it all, If not then I forsee Panthers taking the NFC and playing Either the Ravens or SD. How brandon jacobs is getting no love is beyond me. He forces teams to put 7 if not 8 guys into the box allowing Eli Manning to have simple man to man converage on his WR. Giants are 0-2 without jacobs, 11-1 with him, and the last game they won where Brandon Jacobs was on and off you could see the offense go from good to bad and back to good when jacobs took the field. Everyone says Plexico is the key who I said was great when he played for pittsburg and did up until this year. Last year dude was too much of a distraction and had too many dropped balls. I knew sooner or later his worth would out not outweight his antics.

It's easy to hype up the Chargers, and I'm well aware of what they CAN do but what they HAVE done is very little. I don't even know who they're playing but I don't think that they can contend with any of the other AFC teams.

Agreed.

debaserr 12-30-2008 01:08 AM

im a colts fan. in the afc the teams that scare me are pittsburgh and san diego. in nfc giants(jacobs is key i agree) and the eagles.

thegoldlaw 12-30-2008 09:15 AM

Eagles I feel are too inconsistant at WR. Jackson is going to be a great WR but hes shown too many rookie mistakes this year. 60% of the time the ball goes though westbrooke, because of this you just take a CB or a LB and have it spy westbrooke reguardless.

Everyone mentions steelers as a possibility and I look @ their running situations. 1-3 RB have been banged up or are banged up. This is going to hurt them considerable. When they won it all they had bettis who was able to get them the hard yards. This year I don't feel they have that RB and due to this are going to have to punt on 4th in 1 instead of going for it as they did the year they won it all.

And for chargers I've always liked them beyond rivers, I lost alot of respect for him when he was flipping out on cutler for no apparent reason. It wasn't any better when he would cry after each lost. If you break down their schedule they should be 11-5 instead of 8-8. They lost to the Panthers on a last second play due to a really bad coverage mixup that hadnt happened preiously in that game. Vs the broncos the ref literally gave the game to the broncos. Their game vs the colts the colts had to make 2x 4th down conversations and won it by a long FG.

debaserr 12-30-2008 12:17 PM

who knows how big ben will be anyway. he just had a concussion sunday. and yes rivers is a douche.

thegoldlaw 12-30-2008 03:03 PM

I just dont see big ben being worth the money he is getting paid. Consider this pitts is #1 in pass defense and #2 in rush defense. On the offensive side they are #17 in passing and #23 in rushing. Ben is ranked #24 in passer rating and this is the dude you're paying $100m for ?

Looking @ the stats.. only 1 player has above 100 passer rating. Rivers.. and Brees isnt in the top 3 for passer rating.. both huuuge shockers for me.

Ha! It took me a second to figure what was going on.

thegoldlaw 01-03-2009 10:38 PM

Well First part of my thread came true. SD beat Colts.. If they hadnt I don't see a team outside of Giants that would have been able to beat them.

Same list here. I am probably rooting for the Eagles overall, even though I don't care much as the Pats are out.

Eagles may escape with this game but have looked extremely shaking.

dac 01-04-2009 05:41 PM

Neither team deserves to win this game. Everyone is going to come down on Tavaris now too, and not that he doesn't deserve it but how many 3rd and 8s and 9s did he get asked to convert. Peterson and Taylor are great backs, but they get stopped for 0 and 1 yard gains entirely too much.

i am not really a fan of AD, I like the dude's humble additude and his power running. What I don't like is the fumbles, led the NFL in them.

debaserr 01-04-2009 06:05 PM

he was prolly near the top on carries tho

thegoldlaw 01-04-2009 08:11 PM

4 out of the top 5 RB on carries has 12 fumbles combined. AD has 9

Killertu 01-05-2009 07:12 AM

OH god damn it,ONce again,we loss to the charger, this is why I want the broncos to win so badly, well wish the Colts good luck and tony, wish you well seen this year is your last to play.

haha this is why chargers are my second favorite team. They never seem to hinder the patriots and always seem to ruin the colts. SD for SB in 09

True. I absolutely love his style, he's exactly what you need in a running back as far as mindset and ability goes. He runs hard every time and hits the holes hard. Fumbles can be worked on at least... look at what Tiki did. I think AD has the opportunity to be one of the all time greats.

haha I was just thinking that as I was reading this. For tiki it took a long time for him to stop fumbling. For me personally if I had to pick a RB i'd pick either Westbrooke or Jacobs. In both of those running back they pose huge problems for any defense. Alot of people mention turner and AD, but turner is too slow and AD as mentioned before fumbles alot.

I am a very rare watcher of American Football. I am a big watcher of Australian Rules Football. I have been interested in watching the careers of various ex Rules players who have been recruited as punters. Darren Bennett being the most successful. I was therefore interested to see that another ex Rules player had been recruited in Sav Rocca and caught footage of him this week punting and then being hit late and having his helmet knocked off. The commentators were critical of the individual that hit Rocca. Being not too sure of the rules I have a question to those of you that are in the know. Was that hit legal? If not why was not the player penalised?

The footage is here and is called "Rocca's NFL welcome hit".

Yeah that's a vicious attack and at his head. Completely unnecessary. The NFL tries to protect its kickers, punters, and quarterbacks. It was likely not called because the referee probably missed it.

Illegal and fined for the hit.

Haa haa. Music Banter is paradise.

I used to watch a bit of NFL when Montana played. He was one of those stars that transcended his sport. Unfortunately I do not watch so much nowadays.

San Diego I saw coming... everyone was hyping them up, it was bound to happen. Carolina I did not see losing, and certainly not in that fashion. Jake Delhomme should really give up on the whole quarterback thing.

I'm praying hope beyond hope for an all-Pennsylvania Super Bowl. I'm smack in the middle of the state and I'd be glad to videotape the carnage.

Bills traded Jason Peters to the Eagles for a first and third round draft pick. Thank god, all he did was demand more money and whine anyways when he wasnt holding out. It does leave another spot to fill which blows, but Its better than having bitches on the team IMO.
