Im not sure they would THAT much. I reckon his time is near up anyway. The Steelers have a knack of simply producing, esp at OLB, and most of their players only last 3-4 years but are totally effective in the role.

But yeah, I'm sure he wouldn't have the balls to go thru with it.

He's just angry in the moment, he's not gonna do it.

I see why he is mad though... The hit on Massaquaoi (however you spell his damn name) wasn't dirty in my opinion. People lately have been really confusing the term dirty hit with big hit. I don't think he was trying to hurt him... The QB led him into Harrison's area and Harrison went for the hit. He was trying to catch the ball and Harrison was just trying to make a play. Massaquoia's head dropped at the end and Harrison was already going for the hit. Where do you want him to hit him at? It's a split second decision. When you are that big and fast you can't just pull up at the last second.

The NFL is being stupid... Injuries happen, its part of the game. Nobody wants to see unnecessary head shots. But I am an Atlanta fan, and CB Dunta Robinson got fined 50,000 for a LEGAL hit this week. C'mon now, what the ****!!! It wasn't a dirty play, it's FOOTBALL. I'm waiting to see everybody start going low on receivers now and resulting in a lot of knee injuries.

Basically, you can't stop injuries from happening. There's thousands of hits every weekend and only a few result in concussions. Just let em play. These guys were taught to play the game hard and aggressive and praised for their big hits. The NFL made a ton of money off of these huge plays, and now all of a sudden guys are getting fined for just about everything.

amen, rick.

NFL players who cause concussions should miss as many games as the players they injure - ESPN

Yeah I heard Kornhieser from PTI say the same thing about a Jason Pominville hockey hit last week. I fully agree.

Even if it's a legal hit and a guy gets a concussion?

No, only cheap shots, and by that I don't mean any big hits. Just blatant injurious hits, diving forearms to the head, late blindside hits on QB etc...

I can agree with that.

theres no rooms in the nfl for purposely trying to seriously injure guys... I want to see how the rest of this year plays out with injuries though. If players start going low on a lot more hits, i think we will naturally see more serious knee injuries. Which are a lot more serious than concussions in terms of missing games in a career (concussions are more serious post-career and I'm not saying knee injuries are worse in the long scheme of things).

You look at a lot of paralyzing hits and serious neck injuries too... A lot of them aren't an offensive player getting hit by the defense helmet-to-helmet. A lot of times its a helmet to the chest or something that snaps the neck. We saw it with the kid from Rutgers last week where he became paralyzed from the waist down.

It's like... i agree on suspending dirty players. but the game just happens so fast. we have the slow motion and replays and stuff.. and even on tv, it doesn't look as fast as it really is (ever seen footage from right down on the sideline? Unbelievably fast - same with basketball if you sit courtside). It's all instincts and reaction and i think its a little unfair for the NFL, in the middle of a season, to just say they are gonna start suspending guys for playing too rough. I'm not talking about dirty hits like Meriweather's hit on Heap this week... I mean guys like Dunta Robinson this week crushing DeSean Jackson. It wasn't a dirty play, it was just brutal and both guys got injured. He wasn't out to maim him, he wasnt even aiming for his head. I know guys are eventually gonna start re-training themselves in the way they approach hitting players, but to ask them to do it mid-season when they've been playing a certain way their whole lives is ridiculous

I agree we should have penalties for low blows and misconduct in the game, but its going to happen, especially against rival teams.
We have the highest breed of football players in the world, just look at these guys! What do you think it was like back in the 1940s, I just wonder what Jim Brown could do, as a player in the game of todays football league?
You cant deny the game and all of the great players through the years just because of a few bad apples.
American Football is a religion, if only just a game.
And towmorrow is College Football, see how many games I can watch on TV simotaniously.
