I had a bowl of Ready Brek which is an oat based breakfast, a footlong meatball subway (full of every salad item apart from olives) and that's it. I get 30 mins break on a ten hour shift

Most days I only get one real decent meal, odd being that I'm a chef and it's hardly surprising that I have lost around 17 pounds in the last couple of months.

I tend to eat one big meal a day, which alternates between being pasta-based, fish, chicken or pie of some sort.

My diet is negligible. I do make sure that I eat fruit and vegetables every day, usually a banana and whatever accompanies my main meal. I eat a lot new potatoes, mushrooms, olives, garlic, peas, lettuce and onion. I'm generally a big fan of vegetables, and eat them more than I eat meat. I'm not a vegetarian, however. I do eat chips quite often too.

Other than the main meal, I tend to just eat snacks, usually buttered toast, a sandwich, fruit or cereal. I mostly drink water or rooibos tea. Coffee is a fixture in my morning routine.

My problem is that I don't eat enough regularly enough.

I'm a tuna nut, mostly I have it as a starter. Tuna in sunflower oil with green olives and black pepper and the whole thing is scooped up with a fresh French bread stick roll........delicious. I lived in Spain for a long time, so I eat a lot of Mediterranean stuff.

Go from my current body fat % (high teens) to a more ideal body fat % (low teens). I'd like to gain muscle mass as well, but I've no desire to hulk out.

Regarding your second post; I'm trying to stick to a lactovegetarian diet, meaning not eating any animal products other than dairy. I agree eggs/tuna/chicken are great sources of protein, but I'd take eggs as my pick out of those 3.

Interesting , I assumed from your diet it didn't have as much protein as you described, it seems you are diligent enough to know so, good on you. I try to stay away from the whites like everyone else to curb my carb intake, not alot of rice/white breads/pastas. Seems like your on the right path, so I don't generally have any critiques although the omega 3 has been a great resource for me personally.
Yeah, I've basically given up on pasta. Barilla has pastas that are majority whole grain (51% or something), but - still - they're so high in calories I don't think its worth it. If I'm going to eat some bad carbs I'll eat some pizza or have rye bread with veggie sandwich.... pasta is just too mediocre to justify the calories.

I do, however, <3 potatoes.

That's horrible. I love food.... it must be awful to spend your day making great food, and then not having time to eat yourself.

Surprisingly when you spend 12-14 hours a day cooking the idea of eating food loses quite a bit of its appeal. At least in my experience.

i agree. my brother is a chef and he would never do anything with cooking when he is home because he is sick of it. he leaves it to his wife.

i had to learn how to cook when i moved out. i went the fastfood way for a bit but things started tasting like **** so i had to cook.

i realize that when i cook my own meal for the whole week, i start losing interest.

I like tuna too, but be careful with how much you eat due to mercury levels...i usually eat more of sardines now.
