The Football League Show.
Yeah, thought there couldn't be three people stupid enough to follow Villa... ;)

Mojo 02-13-2015 02:17 PM

Jackhammer is Villa too...

Cuthbert 02-13-2015 02:24 PM

Yeah he is.

We won't be on TFLS TH, we will stay up now. Lambert was the problem. Sent Tom Fox an email last week must have worked :D:cool:

I think we're going to smash Leicester in the cup, then we will be in the QF and one game away from Wembley, if we get a nice draw then it's attractive for a potential new manager surely.

Music-Fanatic 02-13-2015 02:28 PM

Toon fan through and through but that aside, where do you think teams will end up at the end of the season? We'll be mid table thanks to Cashley...

Cuthbert 02-13-2015 02:32 PM

Bottom 3:

Leicester, QPR, Burnley

CL places: Chelsea, MC, Arsenal and hopefully Saints

Title winners: Chelsea

Premier League: Everton striker Romelu Lukaku wants to move to 'a top club' | Football News | Sky Sports - Footballers really know how to rub the fans up the wrong way don't they :D

Music-Fanatic 02-13-2015 02:45 PM

I think Leicester and Burnley are obvious for the drop but I reckon Villa are more at risk. QPR might just nick it I think.

I'd like to see Southampton in the top 5 by the end. They've done fantastic this season!

Trollheart 02-13-2015 05:02 PM

I'll be surprised if we stay up, though I hope we do: staying up late to see us stumble about the pitch before presenting a victory to Wolves or Rotherham is really not something I want to have to do.

Newcastle have a decent shot now I think, but time will tell if it's just post-Pardew syndrome or if they can keep it up. Needs to play Cisse from the beginning more; every time that guy gets on the ball he makes things happen.

Music-Fanatic 02-13-2015 05:11 PM

You a QPR fan?

Trollheart, me, Jackhammer - Villa
Goofle - Arsenal
mojo - Sunderland
Mankycaaant - Cowdenbeath
Nurse Duckett - Leeds
Zaqarbal - Real Madrid
FRED HALE SR - Dunno but I suspect he's an Arsenal fan
Newkie - Newcastle
Face - Liverpool

Think that's it :yikes:

Cuthbert 02-14-2015 04:08 PM

Sherwood on a three year deal. The club has clearly not learnt anything from giving Lambert a knee jerk four year contract after the Liverpool win.

Aston Villa vs Leicester (12:30pm)
Bradford vs Sunderland (14:30)
Arsenal vs Middlesbrough (16:00)

Hat-trick for the MB posters

Trollheart 02-16-2015 05:23 AM

The only good thing about Palace!

Cuthbert 02-16-2015 01:06 PM

Birmingham derby in the cup

Goofle 02-16-2015 01:35 PM

Come on Preston.

Cuthbert 02-16-2015 02:31 PM

booooooooo

Arsenal/MU will be good though and one has to go out

Could yet be a good season for us

Trollheart 02-16-2015 02:50 PM

I thought it was a little arrogant of one of the pundits on MOTD yesterday, when asked, who he thinks could win it, to say Man U. Ok, we all expected them to beat PNE, but then we also thought Chelsea would sail past Bradford. Considering they had yet to play, and get through, it seems totally arrogant to say they could win it when they were not, at that point, even in the running.

Music-Fanatic 02-17-2015 03:20 PM

Bradford in the final for me but who with?

Cuthbert 02-21-2015 10:35 AM

Goof will we stay up?

Help me m8 :(

Goofle 02-21-2015 11:12 AM

Course you will. By 5 points.

Cuthbert 02-21-2015 01:18 PM

I'm not sure if you're serious. The 5 points thing sounds like you're taking the piss.

But I'm now optimistic.

Goofstradamus has spoken

Music-Fanatic 02-22-2015 04:03 PM

QPR are f**ked without Barton now lol

Cuthbert 02-22-2015 05:05 PM

19th.

Mad though cos one point will take us out as we are level with two other teams.

Can't be losing at home to teams like Stoke when you're in a relegation battle, they are matches you need to get points from. Sunderland (no disrespect to Mojo), Leicester & Palace over Christmas, failing to score a single goal in our 'easy' matches :o:

Trollheart 02-22-2015 05:36 PM

More to the point, losing the lead just before half time (which would still have given us one lousy point) and then a penalty right at the death? We should be better than that. Vlaar's no kid, he should know. Taking stupid chances and there goes our point.

When you follow a team for whom a massive cheer goes up when they score their first goal --- not get their first point, draw or win, their first frigging GOAL! ---- you know you have serious problems. Sherwood has his work cut out for him for sure.

Goofle 02-22-2015 05:41 PM

Aston Villa will stay up. Goofle guarantee.

We'll hold you to that. I won't hold my breath however. Some things are beyond even the powers of the Goof... :(

Urban Hat€monger ? 02-24-2015 05:50 PM

My mother recently dug out all my memorabilia from the 82,86 & 90 World Cups from when I was a kid.
Tucked away inside it I found this little gem....
http://i94.photobucket.com/albums/l99/urbanH/BMWC.jpg

Also I found this with the same World Cup logos from the same year only mine has a different stamp to the one here..
http://i94.photobucket.com/albums/l99/urbanH/BMWC2.jpg

Looking around the net at similar items from the same time period they maybe worth around £700 for the pair :)

Trollheart 02-24-2015 07:27 PM

Nice! Some new Fall boxed collection special editions for Urban then!

Cuthbert 02-25-2015 09:11 AM

Nice. The one of Moore would be getting framed and stuck on a wall. Would never sell that.

Good talking point though anyone else got any decent football memorabilia?

Urban Hat€monger ? 02-25-2015 09:54 AM

I'm not selling it.
Imagine how much it'll be worth after 100 years of hurt for my grandkids.

Goofle 02-25-2015 11:06 AM

Signed photo of Thierry Henry is the closest I have to "memorabilia".

I mainly collect cards and I have a few figurines. Such as the following.

Diego MARADONA Figure 6" Tall Fanatico Football Soccer No Ftchamps Argentina | eBay

Cuthbert 02-25-2015 11:50 AM

Never done that. Collect my stubs though, dunno why cos they're not worth anything.

I ain't got anything like what Urban posted, got a 1991 Cup Winners Cup ball (Man Utd vs Barca) signed by the MU team, a letter off Ferguson and a Villa shirt (2007) signed by the team, that's about it.

Wish I would've followed Villa more seriously when I was younger (during my glory hunting years of 1997 - 2011).

Cuthbert 02-25-2015 02:47 PM

That's it for another year then.

Urban Hat€monger ? 02-25-2015 02:52 PM

Villa beating Bayern Munich in the European Cup was the first European game I can remember watching.
Can still remember it vividly too, the keeper going off after a few minutes, Withe's goal.
Funny how these things stick in your mind.

:)

I've heard the tales of that night in Rotterdam a thousand times and watched Withe's goal many times more.

Dortmund vs Man Utd (both legs) for me, that would've been 1997. I can remember the '94 World Cup happening but no matches, my dad didn't let me watch the telly cos the football was on & I remember being upset over it.

The first match I understood was probably England vs Germany in the Euros in '96. Uri Gellar was on GMTV that morning, orange button on the screen telling people to touch it and that "England will win" :D

Urban Hat€monger ? 02-25-2015 03:49 PM

My first England game was vs France at the 82 World Cup with Bryan Robson's 27 second goal.
That was the reason I wore an England shirt with the number 16 on it for about the next 8 years.

I actually got tickets to the Rose Bowl final Italy vs Brazil in 94. I sold em when the price **** up astronomically. Being that I was rooting for Italy and Baggio was one of my favorite players alltime I gotta say I made the right decision, when you consider the outcome.
