You mean the £80 million they got for Ronaldo?

Some of it has gone on Valencia.
I'd spend the money on a new full back to replace O'Shea.
A world class central midfielder and a replacement for Nani.
One more top class striker wouldn't do any harm either.

It really is unprecedented what Real Madrid are doing ATM and considering the worlds finances bloody mental too. Money helps but doesn't always guarantee success. Iamgine the egos in the Real dressing room next season. A nightmare.

Bulldog 07-06-2009 04:25 PM

I just can't wait to see them hype their chances of winning the champion's league through the ceiling only to get humiliated by a team like Liverpool... again.

Football365.com - Adebayor Deal Could Be Worth £70m

Anyone else feel like all this money being thrown about is getting a little bit ridiculous now?

Dr.Seussicide 07-14-2009 09:22 AM

Adebayor? Worth 70m...no this can't be true...

God I hate transfer season... too many uncertainties.

Is Fabregas really leaving though? I heard speculations

Bulldog 07-14-2009 09:38 AM

Of all the people who'd leave Arsenal, I'd think of Fabregas last. Then again, there was a time when I'd have said the same about Ronaldo and Man U.

The transfer season can be a pain in the arse. I'm just glad the rumour mill doesn't involve Wigan yet - it's bad enough we've got more chance than ever of going down without losing even more of our better players.

Dr.Seussicide 07-14-2009 10:46 AM

Yeah, me too, but I heard Madrid wants him... I have no idea wtf they trying to do, lol. Feels like Galacticos era all over again...

Mojo 07-14-2009 11:22 AM

The money getting thrown around is well out of hand as far as I'm concerned. Of course, it's got nothing to do with the players and I don't think you can blame some of them for taking peoples hands off when they get a particularly generous offer but I just keep wondering for how much longer it can go on or how high some of the wages and transfer fee's can get.

Bulldog 07-14-2009 11:26 AM

In my eyes, if the integrity of the game's gonna survive FIFA needs to step in when it comes to transfer fees and the like, because it definitely is getting out of control. Chances are it'll get even worse in future too.

Dr.Seussicide 07-14-2009 11:28 AM

Money tlks...
