Might lack a bit of creativity - especially with Wilshere as the likely attacking midfielder ahead of them - but man, it would be solid as fuck.

Also big rumrs that we basically have Rooney if we agree a wage (or unless somebody else comes in for him).

:yikes:

Would you not want him to replace Ramsey in your first xi?

Ramsey is better than Fellaini so no thanks.

The rumour has died down a bit, which doesn't really bother me. As I said in that post, that trio would lack creativity. Would much prefer a Fabregas type player was signed to play ahead of Ramsey and Wilshere.

in what alternate reality is that the case?

I saw him get tackled a lot and miss quite a few passes in that video. Fellaini has so much more composure on the ball. Has superior strength, agility and aggression. He's a great header of the ball, can stand up and tackle players as well as run at them. He's also capable of sublime skill that Ramsey couldn't conjure up in his wildest dreams.
I think Fellaini will rejoin Moyes at Man United in all honesty. He's one of the best if not the best overall central midfielder in the Premier League at the moment.
If he just ironed out his disciplinary problems he'd be brilliant.

He played CM three times last season. One of those was against us (as you saw) and Ramsey was the best player on the pitch. The video doesn't do Ramsey justice in fairness.

But I think Man Utd would be a better fit with Carrick getting a little older and starting to develop into a full on holding midfielder.

In:

Jores Okore
Leandro Bacuna
Aleskandar Tonev

Should be done this week:

Nicklas Helenius
Antonio Luna

Seriously wtf is going on :D? I can't believe we got Okore, he is meant to be shit hot, Chelsea were in for him but he turned them down. Not surprised they were in for him either, recommend watching this, this is more impressive than a Youtube compilation as this is just from one game - Jores Okore v Chelsea in Champions League • Aston Villa • HD on Vimeo

All of the players are aged 23 or under, they will join the likes of Westwood, Lowton, Benteke , Weimann and Sylla. I feel a bit giddy to be honest :o:.

New kits unveiled and are class:

I noticed this post (from 2 years ago :o:) and agree tbh. But it is 'cool' now to not support the national team. Like Scousers, they're not English they're Scouse apparently.

Tbh if the team was doing well you'd see more people coming out of the woodwork, I noticed it a lot vs Italy in the Euros. The actual running of the England team though is a shambles and won't be getting better any time soon.

Take the u21's for example who just lost all three games in the Euros, the whole point of these u21's and other age group tournaments is to give your young, most talented players as much time playing together as possible as it's likely you'll be relying on them for the full national team in future, I saw a stat that said 80% of international players who have won trophies at that level, were winners as young players for their national youth teams. I absolutely hate that there has to be so much dicking around. It is time for the staff to use their heads and stop acting like idiots, they are paid very well.

The stupidity of playing all the players they don't believe in while leaving out the ones they do... for what? Had England fielded their strongest squad and won, they'd have lifted the perennial failures tag going into the full team.

Also the idea that these tournaments (and friendlies) should be used for experimenting. I absolutely hate when teams do this, detest it. If you want to see what a player can do, watch him for his club or in training. The staff should already know what these guys can do and then pick the best ones based off that.

You can't expect to half arse a team selection and get anywhere with it.

Goofle 06-17-2013 05:14 AM

The England U-21 selection pool is abysmal in fairness. And we have a better full international team now than in the 90's.
