The little JBL control 1 is a good mini speaker.

I was at a friend's place today.
He has this set of tiny, tiny Teac speakers.
Theyre about 6 to 7 inches high, two-way, closed cabinet.
And they sound brilliant. Better than the JBL Controls and better than anything I've ever heard that is smaller than a regular bookshelf.
The low frequencies obviously won't go deep, but you won't believe how much body these little things have.
Have you ever heard the Wharfedale Diamond 3's? Very tiny speakers with a very big sound? These are even more impressive

The only Diamonds I have heard are the very first Diamond actives. I preferred my early Control 1s, the US made ones not the oriental ones (US ones sound better and are a lot heavier)

I have the very first Diamond actives.
They're mediocre at best. Not comparable to the Diamond III .

Just bought a pair of 10:1 audio transformers so I can use an MC cartridge with my MM phono stage. 50 pounds.

A Big Pile 'o old stuff for a very tiny price:

There was a nice Revox A77 MK-I (1967, you don't see those very often) in the big pile.

Turned out to work almost perfect. That's even rarer than the machine itself.

There you go.

There was a lot more obviously

Geez, s_k... what will happen when you run out of storage room in like 2 days?

Not even close to running out of storage, but what I don't post here is how easy I get rid of most of this. I usually sell stuff for a price that equals the buying price of the whole pile o' old stuff. And then I keep the stuff I like, for free .
