hehehe it's all good. i quite like the humbuckers. besides it's the only decent Jaguar model that has a stop tail rather than the wonky floating plate bridge thing all the others have. if you hadn't already noticed i tend to prefer things that are just a little off from what they're 'supposed' to be hehe

I've had many guitars over the years, my main electric axe is a Warmoth chambered swamp ash tele with a Lindy Fralin 'unbucker' in the neck and an overwound bridge pickup. I got the Warmoth because of their fantastic necks, mine is the fattest one they make (I have big hands). My acoustic is made by Gord Barry, a great luthier, it's his take on a Martin M-style. I also have a Kubicki bass. I used to have a Martin D-28 and a Weber mandolin but had to sell them for cash flow reasons, ya know how it is...

with an LTD under 400 you're basically putting the equivalent of a really nice beginner guitar over a freaking Gibson and a custom one at that... ![]() or are you calling an Epiphone a Gibson because they're both sold as 'Les Pauls'? |

i mix humbuckers with single coil - i have an Ibanez RG-7
i used to have two single-coils but it sounds too squealy and I hate that microphoney hum/feedback i use a British Metal Master distortion pedal with the bass all the way up through a cheap china-made Epiphone amp with full overdrive and it sounds a bit like a Big Muff I also have a DOD wah-wah, not exactly a Dunlop but its shorter range makes it easier for me to make regular wahs to the beat for those 70s sounding funk i also use a slide i cut from a clothes-hanging stand (it's an aluminium tube) I use a coral reef pick i fashioned myself - it just sounds very harsh on the attack |
