Whats your fav guitar?

Mine will be Epiphone SG G-400 Special.
I don't know, I really liked the feel of it. I know it's not the best guitar, It's just my favourite.

Plankton 01-07-2013 10:35 AM

59' Gibson LP Sunburst. Seriously, if I had the money...

Uh_Me 01-07-2013 01:38 PM

I prefer the Gretsch G5135 to most SGs. It does what they do, just better. My absolute favorite, however, is a Gibson Black Beauty. They are....... beautiful.

All depends on what I want to play. Twangier, but cleaner sounds would go to my sg-400 1966 reissue. My warmer. muddier sounds would be the les paul. Looking for a blues sound I'm going to play my strat.

I recently put a jazzmaster bridge pickup into a squier affinity telecaster and it sounds pretty amazing! Not sure if I would call it my favorite guitar tho.

mus8pro 01-14-2013 10:34 AM

My favorite is a seagull. Love the mellow sound.

ZeyerGTR 01-15-2013 01:13 PM

Recently got a custom-built Suhr set-neck modern - alder body, maple cap, HSH, ss frets. It's amazing. Definitely my 'dream' guitar. The tone is fat and clear all the way up the neck and it's a joy to play.

I prefer Deans and Ibanez for metal

JuiceBawcks 09-07-2014 05:53 PM

Well there was this one post that had these little building on the guitars I thought those looked pretty good. So I guess they are my fav xD

Zack 09-21-2014 08:38 AM

Unknown year, sometime in the late '60s, early '70s, by "Tres Pinos" from La Selva Negra in Mexico. It's a classical, Nylon String handed down to me from my Grandfather, and my Father has another one similar.

The MOST gorgeous tone. It has mellowed well. Love it.

emandthegypsies 09-21-2014 10:06 AM

When it comes to electric guitars, I usually love all things Epiphone and I mean ALL. I play an SG and like the neck style. However, recently I purchased a Dean Flying V sunburst. It's a very lightweight guitar and it's easy on my girly back (I'm so old and SO NOT rock and roll by saying that!). I like the way the guitar is setup and I'm a fan of the somewhat beefy tone.

Zack 09-22-2014 07:11 AM

So, Epiphone over Gibson?

muzicbox 09-25-2014 07:56 PM

J-15 dreadnought

I've had mine a couple of years now, it looks, plays and sounds amazing! I can't stop playing it! And it feels really top quality. Love how comfortable the slope shoulders are when you play, looks good too

Mustangs and Jaguars are the fvkkin kewlist.

I'm a Fender guy but that is a beautiful guitar right there ^^^^^

Neapolitan 10-21-2014 09:31 PM

I dream of wiring it up better for different sounds, but as far as the fretboard and action goes, my favorite.

Hell, that thing drips cool!

Is that a wood body or some sort of molded material?

Nice. I have the shorter Gilmour trem arm on my strat. The standard one always got in the way.

Nice! Although the ****ty part is you will never get that tone no matter how hard you try. And I have been trying.

Fender Katana, by far the most fun I've had with a guitar. Always evokes some interesting looks from other guitarists when we bring it on stage. Only existed in 1985, discontinued the year after it was designed.

That's a Fender?!?!?!?!?

If we're gonna talk about pointy guitars gotta give a shout out to Neal Moser, the guy behind all of BC Rich's best stuff. He's still building under his own name these days.

And that's exactly the reaction we get every time it hits the stage. I've only ever seen one in person, the one that we scooped up at a local guitar shop for I think ~$700 maybe 4 years ago. I'm not sure how many of them exist out there but it was only in circulation for a single year, '85. A quick search only revealed 1 on eBay and it's currently selling for $1,400. It doesn't really feel or sound like a Fender Strat or Telecaster, it's an entirely different beast. Very lightweight and very comfortable in the hands. It has this strange Fender exclusive floating bridge called a two-pivot vibrato that works surprisingly well for being a string-thru body style. Very interesting guitar, quite rare, and plays / sounds very well. I still personally prefer it over Gibson Les Pauls, Strats, our Jackson Randy Rhoads Signature V, our Dean Razorback, and all of the BC Rich guitars I've ever played. It may not match up in quality to legendary Gibson / Fender models but it makes up for it in personality.

Impossible to choose a favorite, but this guitar is definitely on my bucket list of guitars to own before I die...

This thread has got me all worked up now, itching to buy a new guitar for the first time in over 5 years... Dangerously expensive thoughts racing through my mind. I think I'm going to start seeking out a woodgrain Telecaster... Anybody play a Telecaster? It's one of the few legendary models I've never tried.

Forgot the name, but I want/need this:

Looks like one of the Kerry King signature BC Rich Warlocks. My first real guitar was a Warlock, fun guitars.

The "KKW" on the truss rod cover would back you up on this. :D

Can we post bass guitars here?
I got to play an bass from an obscure russian brand from the seventies, can't remember the name.
I should contact the guy who let me play it so I can find one. Was really ****ing awesome (except for an issue with one of the higher frets, which I feel like could be easily remedied)

I imagine bass guitars would, but why don't you start your own bass thread, I could add one or two.

Anyways my favourite guitar?
