Seriously boo boo, have you ever listened to an Animal Collective album, or do just you base all your opinions around what pitchfork says? I agree that Animal Collective is overrated, but they don't make terrible music, despite what you might have gathered from a handful of tracks.

And I'm really ****ing tired of pitchfork being brought up every time some indie band puts out an album that gets a shred of attention. You're completely overstating its influence on people's taste.

Peacebone in particular is the experimental sort of oddity that i'd have thought you'd have liked. Same with most of that album actually. It's called indie by the majority but it's incredibley progressive as well.

Just because I'm a prog fan doesn't mean I'm inclined to like everything that could be called progressive.

I just don't like the sound at all. I hate the standard whining "indie" vocals, the repetitive drum beats that sound like a 5 year old banging on a steel trash can and synths that sound like an Atari 2600 being raped by a swarm of bees.

Of all the songs I've heard, which is at least a dozen, I couldn't even tell them apart, it just sounded like they all had the same exact structure.

I'll give them an A for ambition, but that doesn't make them good IMO.

Have you tried Merriweather? It's a little more conventional on all levels compared to a lot of their other stuff...
