Another new song, I can't upload this one on myspace because
it's too long, but someone can still enjoy it:

Sand Turns to Glass

and this is up on MySpace but you should really hear it good quality like:

Frog Playing Piano Whilst I Conveniently Drown

cardboard adolescent 05-11-2008 04:29 PM

can someone please download sand turns to glass and tell me what they think?
:(

ProggyMan 05-11-2008 05:11 PM

On it!

ProggyMan 05-11-2008 05:26 PM

Best thing I've heard so far. It could be a little shorter though. Sorry, I'm kind of at a loss for words, I'll get back to you again later.

cardboard adolescent 05-11-2008 06:38 PM

Progression is good! I kind of feel like I'm hitting the limit of purely computer generated music... I really need to buy a guitar. Still, I feel like I've hit upon a pretty distinct style with these new songs.

ProggyMan 05-11-2008 06:45 PM

Progression can be compacted though. I'd like Post-Rock a lot better if some bands tried this.

jackhammer 05-12-2008 02:10 PM

I have just downloaded the album and will endeavour to listen and review over the next couple of days Tom.

cardboard adolescent 05-12-2008 03:48 PM

thank ya kindly lee!

ProggyMan 05-12-2008 08:17 PM

You have 3 ratings on RYM now cardboard. 3+3+5=11/3=3.66666.

jackhammer 05-30-2008 02:09 PM

Intergalactic moped is my favourite so far. Reminds me a little of Tangerine Dream. Like the album. It's a real grower.

cardboard adolescent 05-30-2008 06:24 PM

thanks dude, i really appreciate it! so far i haven't had two people tell me the same favorite from that album, which must be a good thing.

jackhammer 05-30-2008 06:27 PM

Keep it up Tom! I am slightly jealous too!

dishinet 06-03-2008 06:43 PM

different for sure, but interesting.

cardboard adolescent 06-03-2008 11:16 PM

new album time! i put a lot of work into this so any feedback would be priceless.
i'm not sure how to describe the music so i'll just present it and hope
that's enough to entice some of you:

It's a shame that most of the people on MB won't give this a listen, but anyway I had just downloaded this album and I'm going to give it a listen tommorrow...or maybe listen to part of it tonight.

cardboard adolescent 06-12-2008 10:28 PM

i don't think that download worked, here's a fixed link:

ProggyMan 06-12-2008 11:37 PM

Yeh, file wouldn't unpack, I'm almost done with the RYM entry for this, I just need the song lengths.

i used a tascam us144 to record guitar, as well as a usb keyboard and compositional programs. i'm glad you like it, thanks for the comments!

pheurton 06-15-2008 04:41 PM

have you thought about hard copies? (if you already haven't that is)

cardboard adolescent 07-13-2008 04:00 PM

^^ i don't really have the means or the demand, though i would obviously like to.

i put a new song up on myspace, dark ambient stuff takes a second to get started like a sputtering motorcycle but it is what it is no way around that

cardboard adolescent 08-20-2008 10:10 PM

i've been working on a new album currently titled "music for the post-apocalypse," i'm roughly a quarter done with it so there's four new songs up on myspace. any interesting comments are appreciated.

ProggyMan 08-20-2008 10:18 PM

I liked your last album more than your first, it had a smoother feel, if you know what I mean...Not really 'smooth', but I can't think of another way the to say it.

cardboard adolescent 08-24-2008 03:25 PM

this new album is kind of a blend of both. and more noise/ambient since that seems to be popular nowadays.

cardboard adolescent 09-07-2008 01:25 PM

i put up a new song on myspace and there's two that were too long so i'm sneakily hosting them through deviantart:

cardboard adolescent 09-16-2008 04:18 PM

my new album is finished, i'll send it to those of you who seem to give a shit soon.

in exchange, could someone send me those zip files of my first two albums? i recently lost 1/4 of my music including all of my own compositions, which kind of sucks.

cardboard adolescent 09-16-2008 06:53 PM

i'm thinking of making jewel case/cd-r hard copies anyone interested in that should pm me it wouldn't be much more than the cost to make + shipping

ProggyMan 09-16-2008 10:55 PM

I'd send you the files, but my comp is ****ed with uploading...I'll give your new album a go, I'll actually give a track by track review for this one.

cardboard adolescent 09-16-2008 11:00 PM

awesome, it's taking forever to upload but i'll send it out soon

ProggyMan 09-16-2008 11:21 PM

I'll do an RYM entry and all that if I can find time too. I'll bump the old thread I made, see if people will give you a shot.

cardboard adolescent 09-16-2008 11:44 PM

it's available for listening on last.fm but not for download, you should pm me if you're interested:

Molecules 09-18-2008 10:22 PM

you know where i stand on your music, cardboard. Everybody download the ****ing album

Double X 09-20-2008 01:47 PM

Just downloaded some of it. I actually really like it. Are you signed my record company?

cardboard adolescent 09-20-2008 02:07 PM

Unfortunately not. Thanks for the compliment though! I can send you the full album, if you want.

Double X 09-20-2008 02:26 PM

I am retarded when it comes to computers and I can't unzip files for some reason. I downloaded the stuff off Last.Fm, so I got my fair share (I think!). My favorite is easily Frog Playing Piano while I Conveniently Drown. The steady rhythm in that and the whiny echoes in the background are very resonant to me.

sleepy jack 09-20-2008 05:43 PM

Rules \m/ srry the review hasn't come in I've been mad busy.

Kevorkian Logic 09-21-2008 04:08 PM

I was listening to a song to see how your band has changed, because I haven't listened to it in about a year or so. Anyhow my friend stopped reciting German, looked over, and told me I was listening to really ****ing creepy music.

Keep it up man.

cardboard adolescent 09-26-2008 04:41 PM

pleased to announce the first-ever physical release of a tifto album. i'm making an extremely limited pressing of cd-r's, this is just intended to be the first batch and if i make more they'll probably have different covers. i think 5 dollars is a fair price and that would cover shipping. if anyone is interested, get in touch with me... i will love you forever if you buy one (see the heart?)

cardboard adolescent 10-17-2008 12:23 AM

this song is dedicated to jackhammer:

Gentlemen of Brave Metal

it's huge, so it might take a second to download. it's a very minimalistic ambient piece that takes up nine minutes to unfold. if you're into that sort of thing you might enjoy it :)
there's also a four-times-as-fast two minute version available for download on my myspace space
