This "genre" is so broad it's not even a genre. And there are many instrumental bands. Would you like to start with guitar based music or it doesn't matter? If you haven't listened to anything with experimental mindset it's better you start with something at least 'rock' oriented to an extent

...like kraut-rock. It can lead you to noise, industrial, post-rock, electronic, whatever.

I know nothing about this genre, only that it is extremely unique and the genre is limitless, and I've heard many good things about it, so any artists you have, throw them my way.

I'm looking through some threads to try and dig up some.
Those tracks were pretty cool, but it's not exactly what I'm looking for. Something a little less repetitive is what I want, but than again, I didn't really mention what I was looking for so...

Great musicians. Could never get into Mr. Bungle though. I listened to Disco Volante, but... it didn't appeal to me all that much. Guess I don't have the right mindset.

The three Bungle albums each sound very different from each other so if you didn't like one it may be worth listening to another. Disco Volante is definitely the hardest to get into.

Oh, I know. I didn't like the other two because one of them was too poppy and the other sounded too metal and had a weird circus sound to it. I chose Disco Volante because I'm more prone to like experimental stuff. Maybe I'm being a bit picky though... I just can't always open up my mind (sometimes I wonder if there's a technique to it).

The second half of California is poppier than the first. Volante is the best one, it's just you have to start realizing how brilliant some of the individual songs are(Carry Stress in the Jaw, Violenzia Domestica, Ma Meshka Moskwoz, and Merry Go Bye-Bye are highlights), then sort of work around them.

Eventually, you'll realize a lot of the appeal of Disco Volante comes from it's very intentional dryness.

As mentioned too, All bands mentioned above are ingenious.

Wait, I know a good suggestion. Surprised it didn't hit me, but you're a metal guy, right? Well, how about you check out Sleepytime Gorilla Museum. They're all the excellent aspects of Avant-Garde, but somehow maintain a very consistent in tone while being just as eclectic as their ancestor acts, fairly heavy sound.

Does anyone have a download link for Z'EV's album Production and Decay of Spacial Relations. I can't find it.

Hmmm, I can't find it either, only a torrent on some Russian tracker, but I'm not sure if it's dead (and it's about 600mb). But, I have two other albums, Bust This and Heads & Tales. I can send you those if you want.
