you can get better deals for senior employees this way

The UAW was taking bribes from Chrysler and was in on using corrupt distorted interpretations of bankruptcy laws and negotiating **** contracts in crazy legalese to cheat lifetime employees out of their retirement benefits. The retirees are still ****ed and the high level union reps, lawyers, and CEOs are still living large.

The unions are just another hierarchy.

Apparently cutting benefits to a special group is virtue signalling but providing them in the first place is not.

Come to think of it it's not so much a lesser of two evils situation, it's more of an enemy of my enemy is my friend situation. Like saying that Donald Trump tried to silence Steve Bannon, therefore Steve Bannon is pretty alright in my book.

I don't see collective bargaining as an enemy

the structure could be modified to be more democratic, every structure of power should be critiqued in this way

But again most things that don't suck about working are a result of hard union fights

indeed the middle class is an artificial structure glued together through collective bargaining
