Bush followed Clinton. Obama followed Bush. Trump followed Obama. And the trend was for the present to become more and more powerful. The current precedents being set by Trump tend to trend towards the path to become a corrupt athuoritarian mafia state like Russia |

man I was saying the same boy cried wolf shut during the election when the scandals were dissing John McCain and Muslims. Now it's clear as day extortion. With 1 of the Juliani associates who were arrested flipping on Juliani. Will Juliani fall on his sword for trump? Who knows. This **** is unpredictable. But I'd tend to think not. With him waving his phone around on TV and reminding people he was working under orders from the white house. |
It's definitely significant but I just get bored of breathless declarations of every development being the nail in the coffin for Trump's presidency and following.
That said I don't think that the government is going to set that precedent for holding itself accountable for its actions, it's too risky for all those involved. |

calling this a scandal is like calling an alcoholic drinking alone a party
at least to my ears |
What qualifies as a scandal to your ears

I'd call the go back to your country hullabulloo a pretty qualified scandal.

Quote:
I think a scandal would involve getting caught in a crime or unethical(for the president) situation Which is what Trump has done |

It's not the definitive definition and you know it
|
The Constitution only lists two specific high crimes for a president in regard to the office.
Treason and Bribery. This is bribery clear as day. Ukraine, if you want the US $400 mil of aid, go on national TV and say "Corruption" and "Biden". Toss in "Clinton" and "DNC" for bonus points. |
Has the House subpoenaed Trump yet?
|
Pretty sure that legally it would be considered extortion, not bribery.

That’s what that one guy said in the press conference basically Like when trump said Putin isn’t the only killer and it was like gasp except since it’s true the gasps were a little more like sighs |

This 'catch' went too far. Which is why Bolton referred to it as a drug deal. Did you read the statement Bolton's lawyer put out yesterday? Bullets are being sweat. |

Bolton the guy with the gay pride mustache?

He was threatening to withhold money that was already going to be sent to Ukraine, the money wasn't something that Trump introduced as a gift for his actions. Dishonestly read into definitions all you like but that's a very distinct element that differentiates bribery from extortion. An argument for treason could be made though. |
Extortion sounds just as nasty as bribery to me but I didn’t write da c-untstahtooshun
|
Pretty much.

And this upcoming show isn't shackled to a single network. Live on ABC, CBS, NBC, CNN, MSNBC, FOX, HLN, CBSN, ...... And then all of the juicy highlights shown repeatedly on all of the same networks. Over and over again, getting seared into the minds of dullards everywhere. This is going to be better than if Honey Boo Boo was named CEO of Duck Dynasty. |
