Just making sure that my fat joke is really driven home here.

Collectively, I'd think someone like the Brian Setzer Orchestra or the Polyphonic Spree would be the heaviest.

I was thinking heaviness per capita but Hear n Aid is probably the heaviest metal band of all time collectively.

An interchangeable term between the two, so the validity ramens.

There's overlap, but not all metalheads are meatheads and not all meatheads listen to metal. What there should be, is a genre called heavy meat.

Plankton 10-15-2020 01:01 PM

I need stronger glasses, but yes. There'd really only be one band in the genre though and it could possibly be the first genre with a logo, and that logo would be the face of Marvin Aday.

That was terrible.

Rudy Giuliani staffers accidentally upload video of him being racist

Whoops

OccultHawk 10-15-2020 11:29 PM

Probably intentional. Republicans voters love racists.

Just two innocent words put together: how can they sound so cool, sinister and gross, all at the same time?

Gil Scott-Heron - Whitey On the Moon

OccultHawk 10-19-2020 06:01 PM

Sen. Ted Cruz (Texas) and five other Senate Republicans have introduced a constitutional amendment to prevent Democrats from packing the Supreme Court if Joe Biden wins the White House and Democrats capture the Senate.

The proposed amendment simply states: "The Supreme Court of the United States shall be composed of nine justices."

I don’t think it has a snowball’s chance in hell but wtf

same. what did they do to deserve a monster lookalike

Marie Monday 10-20-2020 04:01 PM

btw it's wonderful how some people look so much like a certain animal that the analogy is universal. There was this guy in my school whom I referred to as 'the mole' because he really looked like one and after a few years I found out other people did the same thing, all independently of each other

Marie Monday 10-20-2020 04:32 PM

omg so do I, at least I think I do. My mom definitely has the penguin walk, but in my case it gets mixed with the Lesbian Cowboy Walk™

Anyway, penguin walks are the best, just own it

Cornell English department votes to change name to distinguish from 'English as a nationality'

The English department at Cornell University has voted to change its name in an effort to distinguish English the language from English the nationality.

The department at the Ivy League university in New York voted to change its name to “the department of literatures in English” during its first faculty meeting of the fall semester earlier this month, the student-led Cornell Daily Sun reported Wednesday.

Probably only people who think literature is a countable noun.

You don't play in a band called Cannibal Corpse without expecting to raise some eyebrows at the very least. Unfortunately, being part of the band didn't do guitarist Pat O'Brien any favors when his home was investigated following an arrest and police found multiple firearms and human skulls.

Keith Jarrett Confronts a Future Without the Piano

Quote:

This month Mr. Jarrett, 75, broke the silence, plainly stating what happened to him: a stroke in late February 2018, followed by another one that May. It is unlikely he will ever perform in public again.

“I was paralyzed,” he told The New York Times, speaking by phone from his home in northwest New Jersey. “My left side is still partially paralyzed. I’m able to try to walk with a cane, but it took a long time for that, took a year or more. And I’m not getting around this house at all, really.”

Janszoon 10-21-2020 09:36 AM

That sucks. Maybe he can start making a cappella records of just his grunts without piano accompaniment.
