I live in Denmark and things are generally quiet around here. Until recently, that is.
All the fugitives from Syria really changed this country almost overnight. Now everybody is at eachothers throats about the whole thing. I just read this news story today (quick summation in english): Basically, the mayor of a small town got reported to the police for upvoting a threatning facebook message. The facebook message was a barely veiled threat by a bunch of nationalist right wing peasant types, against the good people who have been helping fugitives with clothing, food, shelter, whatever in the province. I think they even put the faces of those kind people up for all to see along with a message along the lines of "You people are committing crimes against the Danish homeland. We know who you are..." Hard to see it as anything else than a threat, really. In the US I could imagine such a story being basically nothing, but in this little corner of the world it is pretty depressing to see these kinds of attitudes flourish. It just goes to show that civilization is paper thin, when all comes to all. I thought I knew my country, but it is pretty obvious that the kind of thing that allowed Nazi Germany to happen lies right beneath the surface in any nation. NOTE: Sorry to be a bummer. Just needed to get it off my chest. |
If it makes you feel any better, the idea of anything that overtly racist getting on the news is absurd in America. We have 300 million people in our country, so the filter is so ridiculous that you have to be Donald Trump in order to say anything offensive on television.

The story that broke in Chicago yesterday is gonna be the last straw. 15 bullets while the guy is lying on the ground?
|
 A last straw in America for police brutality? So when does your green card expire? I'm thinking it's closer to ten years from now?

I don't get it, the cop got charged with first degree murder. How does that play into the other cases? Seems like the system is kind of working there. Guy broke the law, guy got arrested. Unless it's going to be another he would have gotten a blowjob if he was white thing. It probably is. Big part of why people are kind of going deaf to the whole issue.

I think by 'the last straw', Chula meant, 'the last straw, because I can't think of an appropriate euphemism in this situation.'
|
That makes more sense. That's what happens with strangers on forums. It does suck though, it'll be a good counter-example. People require horrific borderline unrealistic things to get **** done. Need to like, have it break that 87% of the national police force is secretly in the KKK and lynching people after church every Sunday while they sing Johnny Rebel or something. Taking down that ZOG machine and ****.

Warning, pretty damn disturbing. FF to 5:00. Cop shot the guy 15 times while he was already down. Note the first shot which put the guy down was to the head. The cop then peppered the guy's entire body. http://static01.nyt.com/images/2015/...eb-blog427.jpg How'd this take over a year to prosecute with that kind of evidence available immediately after the shooting? |
Okay so the issue is it taking a long time. That is different. A long investigation is better than no investigation though. Justice is sloooooooooooooooooow.

I say it's more racist to assume that Latinos as a whole are going to be a unified voting bloc than to say what I said, even if I wasn't just being goofy.

Racial humor aside im just happy there's so many puertoricans in florida that are doing well. One of my cousins recently moved up there cause Puerto Rico is going through a horrible financial crisis and alot of us are migrating to the US and it's nice to see that at least they are acknowledging our presence because as the article says.
"Puerto Ricans — they feel like they are immigrants in their own country," We are not happy with Donald trump but apart from that we love America. |

Family of man shot by Paradise police officer speaks out | Action News Now
One of the clearest cases of excessive force I have ever seen. Guy wrecks, and while trying to crawl out of the wreckage the cop just waltzes up and kills him. I think the problem with police may be the hiring process. They'll give any moron a gun. |
