Mother****ing ******* of an excuse of a human being and father dip**** piece of crap jerkoff if he was in front of me right now I'd kick him in the balls and then break his nose piece of **** ****ing prick.

It that was my daughter someone would be seriously ****ed up over this. Like losing pints of blood ****ed up. The arrogance. The sense of shielded entitlement. The silver spoon overtones. I'd pay $1000 for some goon to beat that kid within an inch of his life and then I'd hook up with the ******* dad and make him bleed.

European churches say growing flock of Muslim refugees are converting

interesting. most of these people seem to be from afghanistan or iran. its so obvious to me that they think they'll be more accepted or not persecuted if they're not muslim lol. which is stupid. i've heard many stories of christian arabs being persecuted abroad.

Definitely more about skin color than actual religion. I imagine most people's knee jerk reaction to a "muslim" is far more based on the fact that they look like a muslim than that they have been confirmed to be a muslim, so converting isn't really going to mean much.

yeah i agree. but sometimes not so much. even white passing arabs face discrimination at times. sometimes its your accent or the things you say too.

Not in the UK.

Anyway this is the Guardian so it's probably bollocks.

Fair enough. Also I would like to retract my post, not many people would fit Batty's description here but in them majority white towns (I am thinking places like Stoke) then probably yeh.

I'm assuming that the vast majority of muslims in the UK look like they're from the middle east, which would single them out far more than some white guy who goes to a mosque every... time that muslims are supposed to go to a mosque... Friday?

Goofle 06-07-2016 06:43 PM

Wouldn't it be nice if nobody prescribed to an organised religion?

Not necessarily. From what I have seen, white people who happen to be Muslims tend to wear clothing associated with the religion. But obviously you cannot simply assume what religion somebody belongs to without any obvious signifiers.

Ugh, I've seen that as well. Those people are stupid because there's no central outfit for Islam. They just end up wearing the attire common in Iran or some other Muslim nation. Zealous converts can go over the top sometimes.

I don't know much about Iran or how dangerous it is to be openly gay there, and I guess a holy man should be willing to die for his beliefs rather than run from persecution, but come on, it's not like either of us believe in that muslim ****. He's a misguided dude with an unfortunate profession considering his orientation. Dude deserves a break.

And don't tell me he isn't cute.

i do feel bad for him because he is clearly very lost if he believes in islam still
i just believe if you're gay and coming out is going to put your life in danger then duh... don't come out. its common sense. i don't know if he came out publicly or just didn't care and was openly gay idk but still. my point is that if coming out will get you killed DON'T ****IN COME OUT

and he was marrying off gay couples in iran???? WTF? thats so illegal there like honestly... he had it coming.

Dude's got some balls at least. Whether or not he has common sense or a brain in his head, you gotta give him some respect for not givin' a ****. I also like what it says about Iran that an Imam is willing to come out when that **** is still seriously rare in America.

okay but for him to preach about religion and pretend to be religious and then go clubbing and meeting dudes in turkey is not hypocritical??

honestly nothing is harder than growing up in a strict conservative environment and growing up to realize all those ideas are complete bull**** and then trying to move on and get on with your life. like i literally spent so many hours of my life praying, fasting, reading quran, learning, reading about the religion, the sahaba, the hadith, everything.... and to do that and then come to the conclusion that its all bull****... it just ****in sucks.

Nothing says he's not a hypocritical *******. He's a human being after all, but Martin Luther King Jr. was a preacher who ****ed around on his wife. Doesn't change the things he did for his people. Maybe this dude was a hypocrite, but that doesn't necessarily take away from the good that he might be doing. Of course he might just have been a scumbag who just happened to be an Imam. **** is what it is;

So shouldn't you have a little more understanding for someone who obviously puts more space in his life for something that might not be in his best interest? Especially when that thing is so powerful in your culture?

i'm not saying i don't understand. i do but... he should do more than just seek refuge in turkey. now that he is in a safer place he should speak up about the hell that gay 'muslims' go through. i was wishing he would denounce the religion as a whole. not just be like.... yes i married off gay muslim couples. i mean COME ON. i understand the whole... islam can be interpreted in many different ways. and he is definitely not the first muslim to argue that islam isn't against homosexuality but i just kind of wish he had done more since he is speaking publicly and hundreds of thousands of people are listening.

i don't hate him, he does seem like a nice really sad dude. i actually feel really bad for him. being gay as **** and still being an imam thinkin hes gonna go to heaven. i just had higher expectations i guess.
