They should when they've been responsible for the persecution of millions of innocent people throughout the ages.
History is littered with the corpses of those killed in the name of religion by people who have taken the bible literally.
The fundamental problem with religion, isn't religion itself, but with the people who claim to do things in the name of God.
More accurately, in the name of their particular God.
The perfect examples of the kind of people that need to be beaten with baseball bats are, with Christianity...the Crusaders, witch-finders etc. And more recently, Islamic extremists.

For the record. I don't have a problem with religion and it's books. They serve a purpose for those wanting a guide book to their life.
I do have a problem with those who try to force that way of life down others throats and they are always the ones pointing to the bible, tut tutting and wagging their fingers...stoning...suicide bombing...homophobes etc.

And You avoided my question...again. Do you take the bible literally?
