Brokeback Mountain was a propaganda piece; conceived as a reaction to Bush's second term push for a Federal Marriage Amendment. Propaganda can be moving and great and entertaining, such as The Battleship Potemkin or El Norte, but Brokeback Mountain was boooooooring.

Really, if I want to watch a movie about love, I'd rather watch Casablanca or Breakfast at Tiffanys.

The movie was filmed in the summer of 2004 so unless somebody had a time machine I don't see how it could possibly be "conceived as a reaction to Bush's second term push for a Federal Marriage Amendment".
