True but there's enough video out there of his past statements to really hurt him. After Romney flip flopping plays a major role on the voters psyche.

I don't understand that. Like, you people want the gridlock in politics to stop, and yet a moderate who's willing to change his positions to work with the other side comes along and you turn your nose up? Like, I'm happy we got a black president, but why people liked some guy with a slogan over one who was a bit sketch but might actually do his job with some competence is beyond me. They're ****ing politicians, dude, take what you can get.

By flip flop I mean someone who campaigns during the primaries on a platform that caters to their partie's base, and then once they win they flop on a bunch of issues in order to try and win the general election. Displays a total lack of conviction on their part.

Pick some issues, decide your platform and then stick with it. Now if you then win and decide to work with the other side that's a great thing.

That's not how this works. That's not how any of this works. Romney ****ed up, but that's what all politicians do. They play it up for the base during the primary, and then pull back for the actual election. That's how it's always done.

Why do you want a politician with conviction? Those people are hard to work with. Those people also tend to be farther to the right or left than what some may be comfortable with. Give me a moderate pragmatist who's willing to vote against his beliefs if he/she thinks it will actually accomplish something, even if that's not their favorite thing. People like that are actually able to work with their peers, as opposed to people with convictions, like the Tea Party, who ****ed over our credit rating with their convictions.

There are degrees to all of this. Some are much more blatant than the norm.

It's one thing to pull back and tone things down, but this is another story.

The dude managed to be an effective Republican governor in ****ing Massachusetts. He worked with the Democratic legislature to create a state health care system. He's a Democrat's dream! I'll take him over someone with convictions any day. Let the constituents have the convictions.

Edit: I don't know why the **** we're debating the 2012 presidential election in 2015, but I am amused.

Cause Rubio reminds me of Romney. And ya, Romney was actually really good for Mass.
