It's an effective way to have your voice heard. It's also an effective way to make your side look bad by protesting a fair election (and yes, as much as I hate the electoral college it is the system that is in place therefore we consider it fair; where was all the EC hate when Hillary was counting on it?) and the symbolic peaceful exchange of power.

How will protesting simply his inauguration help this? Who will care? Wouldn't it make more sense to march on Washington when he does something worth marching for?

That's like marching after it is too late. People keep saying "oh give him a chance he hasn't done anything yet". We already know the path he's heading on and what he's about to do.

Bull. Shit. Donald Trump doesn't even know what Donald Trump is gong to do when in office.

A good rule of thumb is to not look like a member of a Democrat equivalent of the Tea Party.

Any form of protest is good Trump is thin skinned as all hell put the heat on him let him know what's up with the majority of Americans then when that bill to cut social security hits his desk he's gonna flinch

Remember there is precedence for a presidency being so unpopular that the guy resigned

I hope he'll ride a horse together with Putin, both shirtless, his comb-over majestically flopping in the wind.

Count me out on wanting a shirtless Trump.

But you're not marching for anything that can be affected. He's already president. Nobody is going to look at you yahoos and come to any realizations that they already had or hadn't throughout the election, or else he would never have been elected in the first place. But if he starts making waves with encouraging this or that policy that you don't agree with, and you can form a protest with a coherent goal and narrative that addresses something that can be changed NOW/THEN, then it might actually be worth doing.

elphenor 01-20-2017 05:07 PM

nah this is about making a "we are still here" type statement

America is still a center left country with a broken electoral system

DwnWthVwls 01-20-2017 05:14 PM

In other words, "We are here to state the obvious".

They might as well be aggressive, human hating vegans and people committing heinous acts on behalf of the BLM movement..

This comes later on in the process. Strategizing and coming up with a specific campaign around an issue. Base building then leading up to another action.

Yes this is kind of pointless but it's more about being symbolic and using the energy wrapped around people's fears to stand up and show power in numbers. The protests that are going on today and tomorrow. Also of course there are anarchists that just want to run around and break **** but there are other protesters out there as well.
