So apparently he was talking through his arse again when he claimed the $110bn arms deal with the Saudis. Not sure about the news source but hopefully for once his lies are a good thing. Anyone get the feeling his administration is all smoke and mirrors?

There is no why when it comes to Trump and lying. You can't even say it's compulsive. To say he is compelled implies that there is some inhibition he needs to overcome before he lies.

I think the idea that politicians are sociopaths is fundamentally flawed, since sociopaths in general are not given to the hard work presumably required to gain and maintain national office. But Trump doesn't seem to think beyond the here and now, another trait of a sociopath, and so I doubt his success is built on anything but luck and flying by the seat of his pants rather than actual hard work and determination.

So an impulsive, compulsive liar with no seeming integrity whose public personality is clearly a front (not that his private personality sounds like anything to shake a stick at) and who doesn't really seem to have any work ethic beyond doing what makes him feel like a big, smarty man in the given second sounds like a fine candidate for sociopathism... ism.
