I think the idea that politicians are sociopaths is fundamentally flawed, since sociopaths in general are not given to the hard work presumably required to gain and maintain national office. But Trump doesn't seem to think beyond the here and now, another trait of a sociopath, and so I doubt his success is built on anything but luck and flying by the seat of his pants rather than actual hard work and determination.
So an impulsive, compulsive liar with no seeming integrity whose public personality is clearly a front (not that his private personality sounds like anything to shake a stick at) and who doesn't really seem to have any work ethic beyond doing what makes him feel like a big, smarty man in the given second sounds like a fine candidate for sociopathism... ism.
