I mean there's enough people somewhere to elect Steve King. There were enough people somewhere to elect David Duke. Even if New York and Cali aren't electing these people democracy still lets them in.

Democracy brought us American capitalism which is the most destructive force the world has ever known.
|
More destructive than the East India Trading Company? I mean isn't that what all this is based on and fellating?

I mean American democracy is taking the idea to the next step while throwing in modern ethical hand wringing but it's just the emperor's new clothes. It's the same **** different day. Differentiating it sounds like evangelicals convincing themselves that they really are living in apocalyptic times.

You’re probably right but nobody who correctly predicts the apocalypse gets to gloat. I actually think there is something new under the sun this time. So I’m saying you’re probably right but I still think I’m right. |
Never read Ecclesiastes, but I'll admit that modern democracy and capitalism are making more of nihilistic equations on manipulating human thought than ever before and there is probably an end result wall we're running into sooner or later but it's less about a different approach to tyranny and manipulation and more about sophistication.
Nuclear weapons and global warming are certainly new walls to crash into but those are things that aren't inherently emergent from human civilization. They're "holy ****" things we could never have accounted for and are simply incapable of dealing with because human civilization has evolved without them. |
It’s been hitting 40 degrees F above average up around the arctic circle.
