The answer to global warming is technology. Clean energy and carbon trapping technology. When we needed the a bomb, we got a bunch of scientists in a room, threw funding at them and said figure it out. When we wanted to go to the moon before the Ruskies, we did the same.

It's an all or nothing issue. Either we to replace the current infrastructure with something that other countries would be eager to adopt, or you might as well just search for high ground

Yeah. I personally don’t think it’s possible to transition from fossil fuel without a massive die off. It’s the exploitation of millions of years of stored solar energy that made the population explosion possible in the first place.
