They're not done getting retaliation. That was just the open attack. Most likely anything else that follows will be via proxy/cyber/etc.
They don't want a war. It's not cowardice, it's self perseveration. We would 100% topple their regime if it came down to that. They know that. We know that. And we both know that what happens after that is likely to much worse than the current conditions. So if we do go to war, without them launching additional open attacks, it's 100% just because the Trump administration decided they want a war with Iran for whatever reason. I hope that doesn't happen. But I don't at all rule it out. |
We couldn’t topple Peewee’s playhouse with our fat ass bloated crippled diabetic military.

The US has the top military in the entire world by far.
They defeated Saddam's army in a matter of days. It's not beating Iran at conventional war that is the problem. It's the nation building and occupying army vs insurgent forces that drags things out and will drain us in the long run. The problem isn't that we can't beat Iran militarily. It's that doing so will hurt us more than it will help us. |
The Taliban flattened lower Manhattan. They’re still a huge political force. We outspend them a billion to one but it doesn’t matter because they’re smarter and we can’t fight.

It's one thing to say they can launch an effective terror plot and it's another to say they can withstand the onslaught of the US military to topple their regime. And truth be told, 9/11 was an anomaly. Terrorists have wanted to replicate that sort of impact since 2001 and in the 20 years since nobody has come remotely close. |
See when we beat the Germans they were no longer Nazis. They didn’t just change the top Nazi spot. Japan kept the emperor but his role was changed and Japan was no longer an imperial power.
Sure Saddam is gone but at the core they’re not fundamentally changed. |
Al Qaida is the military wing of the Taliban
