Well, all I can say is it happened to an ex-girlfriend of mine too. It seems weird that two people would make up the same story for no reason.

I agree, that would be strange. It might be the wikilink I just edited my last post with though, which apparently is a refined form of heroin. I don't know, all the heroin I've seen has been brown

I'm almost the same way with this one, didn't notice it before but I hate US beaches because they are so damn dirty and I normally can't see my feet so I choose not to swim in them.

I'm probably spoiled because my family is from the Caribbean.

that's one of the numerous reasons I prefer cats to dogs. I also like that cats are easier to clean up after. They are also more independent and aren't as clingy as dogs are. Sure they want to be pet every now and then every animal does but then they go away and do their own thing. Not dogs. so annoying.

nah they didn't know about each other...

it didn't end well, though - the primary one turned out to be a slut, the secondary one had her parents forbidding me to see her as I didn't escort her back on the bus home after a date, the tertiary one got married to my classmate whom I suspect spread rumours that I had sex with the slut

Whatever you do... DO NOT GOOGLE AUTISM!

The movement and balance problems come from my ankylosing spondylitis. For those who don't want to google, my spine and major joints are slowly fusing together and locking in place so moving is quite painful. I don't have a drivers license because I find it hard to get in/out and sit in a car for a long time. Technology and Fine Art is what I have my degree in! :p:

Mrd00d 02-07-2011 02:26 PM

1. Born October 12, 87. Columbus Day. Makes me a Libra, by the way.
2. I was born to a lesbian mother and was raised with her girlfriend for the first 10 years, until they broke up. My 'godmother' moved to Pennsylvania and we stayed in California.
3. I was a test tube baby. Product of new science!
4. Went to Catholic school my whole life, but do not subscribe to any faith in particular, though I am spiritual.
5. Started smoking cannabis in college, at UC Davis. Founded a party apartment. Had a lot of great fun, lots of drinking, thrashed the place pretty bad and we got it out of our systems. Worked full time and stopped attending UC Davis.

6. Plan on going back to college, but for what, when, and where can be filled in later.
7. From 19 to 21 I lived with a girl that I loved, but she loved the vagina and finally told me I should get on and find a girl that will love me proper. At least she cared about me, in the end. I would have stubbornly, ignorantly kept on being relatively unhappy but with her. We are still friends, but we live an hour away.
8. My best friend lives an hour away as well, in the other direction. Next to him, only about 5-10 people I could call a friend.
9. My family all live an hour and a half away in the Bay Area, while I'm up here by Sacramento...
10. My driver's license expires this year... I've driven no more than 1 mile since I've had it. I still have not been able to get a car. I used to hate the concept of driving growing up, and now I want one. It's getting ridiculous.

11. My first kiss was when I was 18. I couldn't believe how long that took.
12. And then I didn't see any action at all until I was 20. A nice, very large young lady, about 18, devised a plan amongst some acquaintances of mine to get me extremely hammered, and then handcuffed me to a bed while I was blacked out and took my virginity. I don't remember but bits and pieces. I remember understanding what was happening, but it was all a blur. It sucked.
Handcuffs because I'd politely declined her advanced three times previously.
13. When I turned 21, I was hitting the college town bars and I met a beautiful lady. We got extremely ****faced buying each other drinks, went to her place and did the deed, and it was the best/last time I've had sex.
14. I've never been on a date, and it's debatable on whether or not the lady from #7 counts as a girlfriend, despite living together for over a year. But as far as I'm concerned, I've never had a girlfriend either.
15. I am now a California Prop 215 medical cannabis patient and personal grower. I grow enough so I only have to buy half the time. The state law is hazy, but we're only supposed to grow 6 at a time, and so that yields enough for about half the year... the medical clubs are sweet for the remainder of the time. I like to switch back and forth between my stuff and theirs.

16. I've been listening to music... like really listening to it... since I was like 12
17. Rush was probably the best concert I've seen, 8/9/10 in Mountain View. The worst show I recall was System of a Down/Mars Volta. It wasn't inherently bad, just the least fun.
18. I've seen Powerman 5000  like 5 times. Same with Nuclear Rabbit. Same with Hieroglyphics. They all play(ed) a LOT of NorCal shows.
19. Aspire to be a musician or vocalist, but I'm not well versed in any particular instruments. I want to be a drummer, I think, but have never had a chance to play a real set.
20. The Rock Band franchise is a good companion of mine. Expert drums/guitar. Now they've added pro mode, and keys. I'm learning keys in the game and up to expert basically. Owning pro drums with cymbals, and need to get the pro guitar still.

21. I wouldn't mind acting, directing, or writing in movies/tv, but I don't watch much tv anymore.
22. I have 80,534 tracks in my media library, amounting to 631.4 Gigs, and 6287 hours, 42 mins., and 55 seconds. That's like 262 days.
23. Coen Brothers, Tim Burton, and Terry Gilliam are my favorite film directors.
24. I think I may write a book or three some day, eventually. I like my writing.
25. I work graveyards at the gas station. Now I have an excuse to be up until past sunrise.

I see the sunset and sunrise every day, in that order.

GeddyBass2112 02-07-2011 03:32 PM

Another 25...

1. I was born prematurely (2 months).
2. My fave bass is called Petra
3. My first big concert was going to see Def Leppard.
4. I plan to cycle some 65km in a charity race in a couple of months.
5. I'm writing an opera right now.
6. I am considering conversion to Judaism.
7. I've starred in a film, done a little modelling and been on TV.
8. My favorite food is burek.
9. My first memory is of me on the settee with my cat.
10. The first song I ever remember listening to is 'Blue Monday' by New Order when I was 3yrs old.
11. I used to know how to program computers. I reallly should learn that again.
12. My dream vehicle is a Honda Goldwing motorbike.
13. I suffer from depression and am now on Prozac.
14. I used to be a terrible bully at school, but never got punished for it.
15. I've got some 1Tb of music on my HDD.
16. I recently took up running again after a break. I used to be able to run a 5min mile.
17. I've shoplifted from supermarkets.
18. I don't know the UK national anthem.
19. I can only sing well if the lyrics are in French.
20. I have the habit that I can read a book once and remember large sections of text from memory.
21. I've raised, since the age of 15, some $10,000 for charities.
22. My dream is to ride the entire Tour de France route.
24. I've eaten crocodile.
25. You've just realized that 23 is missing.

Yeah, it is a bit expensive up there. Some day, even if it's just for a year, I would still love to experience it. Worst comes to worst and I can't afford it I could always move to one of the upper states. They have lots of land for cheap.

Maybe this is a cultural thing or maybe you have a different reason on going there than I think, but... why would you want to attend someones funeral if you obviously dislike that person?

Well I've debated whether or not I'd attend in my own head for awhile now. I can't imagine seeing or talking to him ever again. And he lives a really unhealthy life so I think he will die pretty young. But I guess it'd be just to make my final peace. Still have some old good memories, he still gave me life and got me interested in stuff like sports even though he's a piece of shit. I figure I would go, say whatever I have to say both good and bad and then leave and it's over with after that.

s_k 02-08-2011 07:37 AM

Allright. I understand.

Next thing isn't really a reaction to your posting, but I'll just put it up here anyway.
I have this strange thing with funerals.
I've been to one and I try to avoid them like ****.
It really feels like a forced way to say goodbye. I'd rather do this in my own time.
I don't need to see a coffin.
I have an uncle I really really like who is probably going to die of cancer really soon.
I'm not sure if I'll be going. I should talk about this with him. It's a pretty nasty thing but I just can't see why I should go...

Exactly, you and I view funerals the same way. One reason I hate funerals is because it's basically an impromptu family reunion and I really don't like some of my extended relatives.

Two, funerals are a way for people to cope with the person they have lost. I rather do it on my own terms and in my own time. I don't need the support system of others. My stupid step sister got off contact with me after my dad passed because I didn't show up for his funeral. She didn't want to understand my point of view on funerals.

Third reason I don't like funerals is because I have this weird defense mechanism that when too much sadness is around I tend to get happy and smile inappropriately. If i'm forced to attend a funeral it's very hard for me. One time, I busted out laughing during the Eulogy and was kicked out of a proceedings because of my mechanism.

I like most of my relatives. But I dislike the fact that there's people there who go there because they 'have to'. Please stay away.

That's really the first time in my life that someone gets the point :)

I'm afraid about this when it comes to funerals too... That's why I already told my grandparents years ago I won't be there. I'm just afraid they don't remember...

That's just sad. It's not like you can help yourself.
I don't have that, but it's definitely a valid reason :).

Howard the Duck 02-08-2011 08:28 AM

my uncle is a sort of spiritual medium to Taoist-Buddhist gods and he advised my mother that I shouldn't go to funerals as it would upset my "lifeline"

i believe in that even though I'm a Christian

so I have a valid excuse NOT to attend funerals - unless it'ss inevitable like my granny as I was the eldest grandson on the male lineage - even then, Taoist-Buddhist funerals tend to be quite fun - there's a lot of atonal dissonant music and bizarre chanting

Dirty 02-08-2011 08:34 AM

I see where you guys are comin from but I think it's selfish and disrespectful to not go to a funeral cause it makes you uncomfortable or you don't want to see Aunt Susy for an hour. It isn't about you. It's to pay your respects to someone else.

yeah but we can pay our respects at our own time at say like the cemetery. why do we have to pay our respects in front of people that we don't like it is so forced and unnecessary.

s_k 02-08-2011 08:53 AM

I am paying my respects at home. Not at a funeral where I feel ****ed up.
These things make me really numb and not being able to talk or function.
There's no worse way of paying respects for someone.
How can I pay respects when it's 'organized' in a way I don't feel?

Did you press rape charges?

I do think so. It's a true fun fact.

Err, I went to a K-8 Catholic school, St. Paul's or some ****, uniform and all, and then went to a christian high school. That's it... Not my whole life, as it were, but prior to college. They are solid schools; I know I got a better education than my friends in public school, which due to overcrowding were literally zoos. But I started to become skeptical of the religion surrounding me around 5th grade. Protesting going to school mass: kneel, stand, kneel, stand, sit, stand, kneel, stand, sing, give us money, eat this, peace. Blah

I did not. I know some might have, but it didn't occur to me. I don't feel it was necessary. It was just lame of her to set up and take advantage. I don't think she knew I'd never had sex and she was ruining a moment I could have had with someone special, but I'm not particularly saving myself either.

It just doesn't make sense that parents who are homosexual AND had a "test tube" baby would then send that baby to Catholic school of all places. Did your teachers revile you?

No. They did it b/c of the state of the public school system in the bay area back in the 90s and they could counteract anything crazy religious I brought home from school, but I wasn't too into it anyway so they weren't worried about me at all there. She noticed I was a smart student with a rebellious but quiet nature. I wasn't lost in their mold. Some of my classmates are using their facebooks as a place to spread their religious messages and soapboxing. I did fine in comparison.
