I spent a lot of time in Cafayate which is the northern wine region in Argentina. It's in the foothills of the Andes and it's very laid back. They have this bizarre hippy culture there and it's a really great place to unwind. I was looking into real estate a few years back but their economy is awful right now. Besides wine and meat, everything else costs about 3x what it does in the States.

Well Machu Picchu is pretty spectacular and well worth the visit just for that.

That's largely what draws me. It looks incredible in pictures and on film, can't imagine how incredible it is in person.

Know it very well and it's even more impressive in person than in the photos and it's an extremely spiritual spot. The one thing that stands out is the lack of safety features at the location. If somebody were to wander too close to the edge, they could actually fall off in some places. The downside of a visit there, is the rickety train that runs between Macchu and the nearby touristy village you have to go through to reach it. Needless to say, that for anybody that doesn't like heights to forget going there.

I ****ing hate heights, but a lack of safety sounds epic. In America the whole vibe would probably ruined by uglyass railing, big yellow signs, and god knows what else. I hate parents and their whining about safety. No one cares if your child chokes on a toy. It's called survival of the fittest and your kid is obviously dumb as ****.
