I console myself in the knowledge that it's post-Jane Doe Converge. If it was a set full of **** from that album, Petitioning the Empty Sky, and When Forever Comes Crashing, then I'd be pissed.

Yeah, well the venue where Youth Code is playing is 21+ I just found out so guess I have no choice in the matter.

Hopefully it will be then :)

Edit: just noticed my quoting error.

Yeah, marked him on the list. Thanks dude.

Dude. Yob (and anything Schmidt related) is the absolute shit. You'll get your stoner metal fix for the next ten years.

You should also try to see VHÖL.

I want to but I won't if Television plays for an hour. Just how it's gotta be.

Oh, and update we both bought tickets. I'm officially set. Marked the days off from work too. Also changed Konvoi to Soldiers of Fortune due to the former playing at a 21+ show. Sucks but whatever.

Exo 08-30-2016 07:04 PM

Well looks like next week I should be able to go to two shows.

Wednesday night is Donny McCaslin and Paris Monster for 13 bucks.

Friday is Meat Wave for 12 bucks.

Dude, I wish. They came here a few years back but it was 19+ and I couldn't attend.

I remember hopscotch being fun as a kid, but your enthusiasm is a bit much.

You keep making this joke but I'm in the minority that doesn't tire for it.

Raust 09-05-2016 03:47 PM

Fallujah
The Devin Townsend Project
Between The Buried And Me
In a couple weeks. Can't ****ing wait.

Ol’ Qwerty Bastard 09-05-2016 07:30 PM

Dude, I'd suck a dick to see Devin Townsend live. Lucky mother ****er.

Frownland 09-05-2016 07:31 PM

Only if it was Strapping Young Lad.

Ol’ Qwerty Bastard 09-05-2016 07:34 PM

Nope, any incarnation of Devin is enough for a free Qwertyy bj.

Frownland 09-05-2016 07:49 PM

Not a Frown bj. Good lips aren't expendable.

Ol’ Qwerty Bastard 09-05-2016 08:42 PM

Frown bjs are hard to come by, I know from experience.

Sure, why not.

It was a great show. Besides Ozzy being off key and pitchy at a few points, those old fuckers can still jam. All old stuff too. I'm glad I went. For anyone interested, this was their setlist:

Black Sabbath Concert Setlist at Hollywood Casino Amphitheatre, Tinley Park on September 4, 2016 | setlist.fm

That's the same setlist we got at the show I saw a couple of weeks ago. Glad I went, also! :yeah:

Les Brers (from left to right) - Marc Quiñones (Percussion), Pat Bergeson (Guitar), Bruce Katz (Keys), Oteil Burbridge (Bass), ButchTrucks (Drums), Jaimoe (Drums), Jack Pearson (Guitar), Lamar Williams, Jr. (Vocals)

Going to see Les Brers tomorrow night. 2 founding members of The Allman Brothers Band (Butch Trucks & Jaimoe) with percussionist Marc Quiñones (ABB member from 1989 to 2014) and bassist Oteil Burbridge (ABB member from 1997 to 2014) along with some top-notch musical talent to fill in the gaps. Haven't had a live fix of Allman Brothers Band music since 2013 (the year before they disbanded) and I'm looking forward to it.

Tristan_Geoff 09-07-2016 08:48 PM

Can't take this wristband off for the next three days.

grindy 09-08-2016 04:54 AM

Going to see King Crimson tomorrow.
One of my all time favourite bands. Very excited for this.

Nice. First time? I'm pretty good at missing their tours if I do say so myself.

Tristan_Geoff 09-09-2016 10:12 AM

Converge rocked my socks off last night. Not half as violent as I was led to believe though, that was kinda a let down. They also played this one song where they added in a two-minute breakdown bit and no one moshed the entire time. Plenty of moshing the rest of the time though, I'm sure they just got lost.

Yeah. They don't come to Germany that often.
So excited.

Plankton 09-09-2016 11:55 AM

Gary Hoey this December.

Exo 09-09-2016 12:23 PM

Guys, this is the show I saw on Wednesday night. In the beginning you can see my stupid head to the right. This might just have been the best thing I've seen all year and I saw Swans in July. I'm that conflicted. Seriously so good.

I've heard a few of his originals, and they're kind of an SVR rip, but yeah, his Xmas covers are whats keeping him kind of relevant. The first one is two decades old. Cool to see him play it live though, and I'll be third row at a small-ish venue.

grindy 09-09-2016 03:47 PM

King Crimson was ****ing epic. We had great seats and they were of course in terrific form. And as an encore they played Heroes, Which I thought was pretty amazing. Didn't think this line-up would do it.

I'd love to KC, but they don't like us over here.
