Going to see Red Hot Chili Peppers with my daughter at Leeds this summer! Eek. Possibility I'll feel old, but heck, will be sure to have a fantabulous time. Anyone been to Green Man Festival UK? Heard it's family friendly, but expensive?

You'll feel old how? RHCP have been around for 33 years.

Yeah, in a 'mum' sense lol. True!! I should get over this maternal masochism lol!!

You been to either?

Exo 07-04-2016 02:19 PM

I saw RHCP in 2007. It was right after they released Stadium Arcadium. They sucked. I mean, I didn't expect to see socks on their d*cks or anything but they just seemed old and only played their hits. I just wasn't impressed.

I hope for your sake they're better.

Oh dear!!

I'll hope for better and expect less. Story of my life rofl

Saw Brand New and Modest Mouse last night. As I was kinda expecting (but not hoping for), Modest Mouse's set was mostly compromised of their newer material. It really suffered too. Not impressed. It was good, but not impressed.

Brand New however? Holy shit. Best live performance I've seen yet (not many mind you). Is there a limit to the amount of ASMR your body can put out? Cause it was strong the whole set through, I could barely feel anything.

Ol’ Qwerty Bastard 07-07-2016 04:22 PM

I. Hate. You.

At least Modest Mouse played their worst album, sucka.

I left before they played the encore but I heard "The World at Large" in the parking lot so I was a tad disappointed. Not enough to stand by the gate or anything.

They also played Custom Concern and King Rat so I was happy enough.

Janszoon 07-07-2016 09:23 PM

I'm going to see Boris in August and they're play the whole album Pink. They're playing with Earth as well.

I might see that too. Need cash soon though.

Exo 07-16-2016 07:38 PM

Seeing Psalm Zero tonight. Some Kayo Dot members are in the band now. We had some conversations last week when we saw them. They told is to come to this show so here we are. Hopefully it's good.

Frownland 07-26-2016 09:17 AM

Hopefully going to be seeing Gorguts again in October.

grindy 07-26-2016 09:19 AM

Magma come to Germany in october. Can't wait.

Tristan_Geoff 07-26-2016 09:22 AM

Prob not gonna make the Boris show but I'm thinking about Elvis Depressedly/Teen Suicide next month. Now that I'm making money I can start saving for Hopscotch tickets too.

Frownland 07-26-2016 09:25 AM

You should really really try to see Boris if you can.

Also remembered that I'm going to Wreck and Reference's record release in LA this Friday.

Justthefacts 07-26-2016 09:46 AM

You guys put me to shame with all your fun events.

It's August 3rd. I'll have money by then but not enough. Currently actually broke but making my first paycheck Friday.

Winston 07-26-2016 11:21 PM

I will be seeing Explosions in the Sky next month and Andrew Bird in September. It'll be my first time seeing both. Can't wait!

Exo 07-29-2016 11:51 PM

Well, Swans just killed me. Best show I've ever seen ever.

bob. 07-30-2016 09:08 AM

^:)

Tristan_Geoff 08-02-2016 11:22 PM

Bad news. I'm gonna miss Boris tomorrow and my plans fell through for Elvis Depressedly this Saturday. Good news is I have more money I can use for Hopscotch tix.

Better be a ****in great year.

Ol’ Qwerty Bastard 08-03-2016 08:11 AM

To which statement is this referring to?

Both, I think. **** you for having so many good shows so close to your location, but also **** you for not being able to go. Lastly, good for you for going to Hopscotch.

Aw. Sweet.

Tristan_Geoff 08-03-2016 08:16 AM

Also you saw Radiohead so you'll always have that to hold over me anyways.

Alright so I'm thinking about just buying a day pass but idk what I should do. Only three acts I wanna see on Thursday (Converge, Television, and Coathangers), Friday seems like the day with the most acts I wanna see, and then Saturday has a few acts I wanna see.

I'm leaning towards Friday but I don't wanna miss Converge or Television. What should I do?

Edit: Looking at the single ticket prices, Thursday is $40, Friday is split in two depending on the headliners (Erykah Badu, Gary Clark Jr./Beach House/Anderson .Paak) 60 and 50 respectively, and then 45 on Saturday with Vince Staples. I don't know anything about Wolf Parade and Wye Oak but I'll look into it because that day seems like the best option.

Frownland 08-03-2016 10:24 AM

I would go on Friday as well since there are more good artists (though those two would be great to see).

Ol’ Qwerty Bastard 08-03-2016 10:25 AM

If he's going for two days it'd be cheaper to buy the full weekend pass I think.

Did you read my edit? I really wanna see Friday but idk if I wanna miss Converge and Television. Being the cheapest ticket too it's looking really appealing.

Ol’ Qwerty Bastard 08-03-2016 10:27 AM

$165 for the weekend DUDE JUST DO IT. Osheaga was almost double that and I talked myself into it, so stop being a bitch.

Not necessarily. Full wristband is $165...

Damn I also just noticed that those single day prices I just listed above were for headliners only. Wristbands are $85 for full Thursday.

Yeah, so my problem with that is tickets are probably already sold out for that. Also I won't have enough cash for a bit, so they might sell out before I get it.

Ol’ Qwerty Bastard 08-03-2016 10:34 AM

Damn, that sucks. Saturday has the most acts I'd like to see, but I find that overall the lineup for the weekend seems kind of unbalanced, I'm a little surprised to be honest. It would suck missing Converge, and Television probably (if I finally got around to listening to them) but are you prepared to sacrifice quality for quantity?

Being as the wristband for that day is $85 anyways I don't think seeing 5 acts would be worth it. I'm gonna take my chances and just save up for the tickets.

Dylstew 08-03-2016 11:14 AM

Went to my first Punk show not too long ago with a friend. It was my third show total (the first was me taking my sisters place in North Sea Jazz festival as she couldn't go, and the second was a friend bringing who spontaniously got to some club for free as he knew someone who worked there, there were 3 indie rock bands or some ****).

It was Bad Religion in Amsterdam (Melkweg) and they were ****ing awesome. My friend is a lot more of a fan of them than me, so I didn't expect it to be as fun as it was.
