Punk shows are some of the best shows.

The Batlord 08-03-2016 11:29 AM

Slayer, Anthrax, and Death Angel coming to town October 1st. For all the crap shows around here and almost complete lack of anything noteworthy, this feels like a gift from the Metal Gods. I don't know if Slayer will be the same without Dave Lombardo and Jeff Hanneman, but with Gary Holt on guitar I'm hoping they'll still have some of that magic. Only other time I've seen them was in an amphitheater, whereas this will be in a club, which is exactly where I should be seeing Slayer.

And Anthrax and Death Angel? OMG my childhood just came. Anthrax still have Joey, right?

Frownland 08-03-2016 11:33 AM

Haha loser, I saw them with both Lombardo and Hanneman.

Swans are coming to Germany.
It'd be a 2+ h drive, but I just might go.

Frownland 08-03-2016 01:18 PM

Well I gave Dave Lombardo a blowjob too did you do that, bitch?

You WILL go. Saw them Friday and it was the greatest show of my life. You owe it to yourself.

Tristan_Geoff 08-24-2016 11:16 AM

Hell yeah, Hopscotch is happening. Getting tickets Friday with my bud.

Plankton 08-24-2016 11:38 AM

Black Sabbath... lawn seats = $17

Sure, why not.

Since when did you need tickets for hopscotch? I thought all it took was a piece of chalk and some sidewalk?

You can get a ticket for drawing a hopscotch grid without a permit.

Tristan_Geoff 08-24-2016 12:11 PM

****, so Rickey Eat Acid and Milo are scheduled for the same time. This'll be tough.

Nice. The only drawback is Bill Ward won't be there, but that's probably for the better these days, and hey... Adam Wakeman! A little bit of Yes royalty thrown in for good measure.

I agree. Sucks I'm gonna miss Ricky though. There's a few that are scheduled way too close together.

Here's what I've decided on so far. Not too familiar with a lot of the artists so if I could get some recommendations that'd be cool.

Edit: oh well, ****. that's a ****ty screenshot hold up.

Anyways, the ticket allows three headliners at the City Plaza, one at Red Hat, and then all the club shows. So that's why I chose Erykah as the Red Hat artist and then Vince, Anderson, and Beach House as plaza acts.

Ol’ Qwerty Bastard 08-25-2016 06:08 AM

You forgot about Wiki.

Exo 08-25-2016 09:21 AM

There's a band on there called Weird Pennies and I love it.

bob. 08-25-2016 09:24 AM

Baroness is soooooo boring and typical.....go see Youth Code

I don't know Youth Code, but I support alternatives to Baroness.

Oh and if you see Young Thug instead of Milo, I'll bankrupt your family and the three generations that succeed you.

Lol no I highlighted that for my friend who's going with me. I figured we coupd split up for that.

I'll check them out real quick and decide. But I do trust your judgement bud.

Alright so ****. Youth Code is awesome. I love Baroness too though so it'll be a tough decision. I have a while to think about it so eh.

Weird Pennies is also pretty interesting so good eye Exo.

Alright here's my decisions. Not choosing any before Television for Thursday because A. don't know any of the groups B. don't wanna risk asking too many days off work.

But like, if they don't let me have the days off I might as well quit. Don't have to worry about missing classes either cause these are all at night.

Oh, and since I have to write a concert review for a classical concert, I think I'll just use Basinski and kill two birds with one stone. Too bad there aren't any jazz artists though for that class.

As much as I used to love Baroness, I'm beginning to agree. I still like Red Album, but not nearly as much as when it came out, and I was never that hot on the albums that came after. Pretty sure their first two EPs are still good though.

Ol’ Qwerty Bastard 08-25-2016 10:33 AM

**** you guys, I love Baroness.

Also, Wiki rules.

I think I'll see them anyways. I love Red Album and all the rest I've heard from them. If I get my stoner fix from Yob I might see Youth Code then anyways but as for now I'll see Baroness

I just want to add a giant **** you for seeing Converge before me, incase I forgot about that.

Yeah, marked him on the list. Thanks dude.

I'd still go see them, but I wish I got to see them when I was still a Red Album fanboy.

I console myself in the knowledge that it's post-Jane Doe Converge. If it was a set full of **** from that album, Petitioning the Empty Sky, and When Forever Comes Crashing, then I'd be pissed.
