********balls, queens of the stone age are playing two shows in LA in April. They will be playing their self titled in its entirety and I don't think I can go. jshfogidshfkjbn,,kjdfskgdsk;jgf

I guess I'll just wait to see them when their new album comes out. They'll be back, and hopefully that'll be during summer

Banksy 02-21-2011 07:53 PM

I've got Pendulum coming up. In August.

Could have been a bit closer I guess, but never mind. I booked really early to get cheaper tickets.

Their debut kinda sucked though.....

RVCA 02-22-2011 09:23 AM

@ s__________________________k: nope
@ james: yeah but I don't have high expectations for their upcoming album, and it's kind of a choice between the two

downwardspiral 02-22-2011 09:23 AM

their debut is fantastic, I'll be going, they're playing Manchester and London but Manchester isn't doable for me which is annoying cos it's closer, so London it is

I finally get to hear If Only live <3 they never played it when I saw them and it's arguably my favourite song

Their debut is my favourite record of theirs, I don't care what anyone says. I wish I could go and see them play that but I doubt I'll be able to finance it.

My possible upcoming gigs are...

27th Feb - Mogwai w/ Twilight Sad, Konx-om-Pax.

2nd March - Maybeshewill w/ Long Distance Calling, We are Knuckle Dragger, Maps Are Fiction.

4th April - Earth w/ Sabbath Assembly.

23rd April - Bonobo.

18th May - Low.

17th June - Hellfest Open Air, France - (The Stooges, Coroner, Kreator, Melvins, Electric Wizard, Clutch, Corrosion of Conformity, Monster Magnet, Kyuss, Opeth, Ozzy, Down, Grave, Morbid Angel, Meshuggah, EyeHateGod, Bolt Thrower, Sodom, Destruction, Judas Priest, Karma to Burn, Anathema, Atheist, Dark Tranquility, Hawkwind, Goatsnake, Red Fang....)

I saw those guys live back in '04, and they were great. Dave Wyndorf is rock. He's also a hella funny dude, and a cool guy in general.

katrine 02-22-2011 11:43 AM

I'm going to see The National this Saturday. Their last concert got great reviews, so I’m really hoping that they'll so as well as last time!
In March I’m seeing Veto live - they're one of my all time favorite bands and they'll play material from their new album, so that's exciting.

and then after I graduate this summer I’m going to Roskilde Festival. They’ve announced these names so far:
Afrocubism, Autopsy, Beatsteaks , Big Boi, Anna Calvi, De Eneste To, Matthew Dear, Eyehategod, How to Dress Well, I Was a King, Iceage, Iron Maiden, Kings of Leon, Kloster, L.O.C., Lukestar, Janelle Monaé, PJ Harvey, The Tallest Man on Earth, Terror, Kurt Vile & The Violators, Weekend.
I’m unfamiliar with a lot of them, but i trust Roskilde's bookers - they always end up having a great and very diverse group of bands play the festival.

I've seen them once too, probably around the same time you did. I enjoyed them but didn't know much about them before that show so I think I would appreciate it a lot more this time around.

That's a pretty impressive lineup... I wish I were you.

The George Clinton show, that I've had tickets to for months, got canceled this week. Oh, and I missed Fishbone tonight. But I still have Ween in April, and possibly Lyrics Born the night before that, which should make for a very interesting couple of days.

Paedantic Basterd 02-26-2011 10:25 PM

I already mentioned the Decemberists, but I'll also be seeing Doyle & The Fourfathers in Leeds on the 11th, which is very exciting.

chanpyn 02-27-2011 09:18 AM

The Allman Brothers band at the Beacon Theatre.

NSW 03-01-2011 08:41 PM

Janet Jackson this Friday...at the Rodeo.

KISS AND Janet Jackson at the rodeo...what is the world coming to? I love it!

pourmeanother 03-01-2011 08:49 PM

Atmosphere and Aesop Rock. Maybe seeing Aesop live will change my thoughts on him.

Highly recommend. Second time I saw in September was the best show I've seen. Absolutely brilliant stuff.

Merkaba 03-01-2011 10:58 PM

Kyuss are in town in May, fuck yeah

Yeah James, your opinion is kind of incorrect. :J

Might also see The Black Keys in July, been wanting to see them for a while. That QOTSA debut show thing reminded me of Coheed's new Neverender tour playing The Second Stage Turbine Blade (obviously their best album) in it's entirety. You yanks best hit that up.

I'm seeing The Pains of Being Pure at Heart on March 16.

Really I'm going to see Obits who I don't love but appreciate because of my intense love of Hot Snakes.

To be honest it was good but no more. I did enjoy it and I'm glad I went but I still felt a little disappointed.

Connair 03-02-2011 11:26 AM

Where do you live? The Pains are playing near me in a little while and I'm hoping to be able to see them.

holly984 03-05-2011 05:25 PM

Adele in May :D

The man MAN 03-06-2011 12:06 PM

Americana Anyone?

I am going to see a little Americana in my Home city of Boston. The show is called AMERICANA the beautiful and the band i am seeing is called Comanchero. Though I am normally not impressed by Bostons Night Life this show is going to be DOPE! Its put on by F Nice records who put on rock, punk and really all awesome local music shows in Boston. The show is at this killer venue called McGanns Pub in Boston.

Anyway, I'm jealous of the person seeing the queers, that should be a great show.

I would recommend Fnicerecords.com to anyone coming to Boston and looking for a great show.

Ska Lagos Jew Sun Ra 03-11-2011 06:23 PM

If all goes well:

Megadeth
Primus
Dillinger Escape Plan
and The Residents.

If I can see the last one of those, my life will be made.

Saw Bob with John Mellencamp and Willie Nelson 2 years back on July 4 at a minor league ballpark in Indiana. I felt so American lol.

But I just got back from Carbondale in Southern Illinois where I saw local blues legend, Tawl Paul.

From there, it was onto Louisville, KY. Ryan Bingham was the reason. He played at a real cool venue, Headliners. Great sound, great crowd. To add to an already awesome weekend was the fact that the St. Patrick's Day parade was earlier in the day AND right in town was the Lady GaGa concert. In other words, there was a **** ton of people out.

The only other show I have planned at the moment is Bonnaroo. And my god am I super pumped for that 4-day event. I'm drooling as we speak...

Rage Against the Machine 03-14-2011 08:26 PM

April 30th, The Wonder Years with Fireworks, Make Do and Mend, Living With Lions, and Such Gold.

I'm predicting that this will be hands down the greatest 3 hours of my life. I love every one of these bands.
