I miss when they were in Oakland for that reason. Baths is playing in SF soonish though, I believe, I should get on that fo sho.

Damn lady, Oakland era WHY? is the best. I still love them, but the quality of music they're producing has kind of declined in recent years. Also, at the last show I went to, the band was kind of dickish to the fans. I still have hope though. Baths on the other hand, should be awesome. Will seems to put on a very good show. Also, his IG/twitter accounts are absolutely hilarious and worth a follow.

http://i1058.photobucket.com/albums/...sf8dd1799.jpeg

Looks like the lineup changes depending on individual tour schedules, so as of today the lineup will be; Billy Cox, Buddy Guy, Jonny Lang, Kenny Wayne Shepherd, Bootsy Collins, Dweezil Zappa, Brad Whitford, Eric Johnson, Doyle Bramhall II, Chris Layton, Eric Gales, Ana Popovic, Henri Brown, Dani Robinson, Stan Skibby, and Quinn Sullivan.

Been waiting for this one for several months.

Daaaaaaaaaaaaamn! How was it?

bob. 03-26-2014 09:38 AM

Amazing!....danced my ass off!!!!

The 3d effects were somewhat interactive and fun.....the set list was a bit over two hours and was one song shy of being perfect (Europe Endless would heve really tied it all together :) ) .....Janszoon. ..they did an extended remix of Radioactivity which included an all Japanese verse for Fukushima.....actually from The Robots to Music Non Stop everything was amazing but Radioactivity was*enthralling......also they really seemed to be enjoying themselves.....as of right now.....the best live show I have ever been to

My brain would explode if I saw that much talent on one stage live. I've been hearing about this one, and I'd really love to go... and lose my brain.

Certainly some serious players on that list. I'm gonna hit Doheny Blues fest this year. Its in memoriam of my Brother in Law that passed away. We used to go every year and i'm gonna head out with his family.

The dickishness is starting to come through more in the songwriting as well. It's like, ok Yoni, we get it. You're hip and wear tanktops. You make decent cash, you're a minor star, and you won't last if she don't drive a hybrid car, etc. Just bought my tickets to see Baths in May, thanks for the reminder. :)

Wow that experience Hendrix looks amazing. I have someone offering me tix to Neutral milk hotel for $100/2. Might have to do it.

Frownland 03-26-2014 05:00 PM

Going to see The Magic Band play on April 6. I'm never going to get the real thing but this is just as good, it's got original members and youtube videos haven't disappointed me.

Josef K 03-26-2014 07:45 PM

Going to a bunch of cool concerts in the next couple months, actually. Morrissey, Neutral Milk Hotel, Nick Cave, and Elvis Costello (solo acoustic).

Engine 03-26-2014 08:49 PM

Swans in June : )!

bob. 03-27-2014 11:14 AM

^:( (but seriously awesome :) )

as always they are really taking their sweet ass time to get to the west coast....i really have to hawk their shows as there are quite a bit of skinny hipsters with beards in the bay area....and they are often 98% of Swans live audience :)....in other words....tickets go very quick in the bay area :(

I think they tried to think of the people who would only show up once as
well as those that would come for all the shows. If you were disappointed
that you didn't hear something at one concert, it'd show up at another.
Each night, there'd be either a short or long version of Autobahn...
or they'd play The Model (or not). One night we were surprised by
Pocket Calculator (w/Dentaku) because we had suddenly realized that they
hadn't played that one yet. It seemed to be as carefully thought out as
possible considering they were trying to keep the shows at a reasonable length.

i think their set was very much thought out....and being that it was the third of three nights....it seemed to me that they concentrated on Computer World and Man Machine (which was just fine by me :) )....pretty much playing 90% of both albums along with the big "hits"....ie a long version of Autobahn, Trans Europe Express, Tour De France and an amazing encore of Techno Pop and Music Non Stop

I checked on tickets for the Merrilville show. 75USD for the nose-bleed cheap seats and there were only 8 left. A bit too rich for my wallet, plus it's too far away. Living a mile away from one of the biggest outdoor venues in the area has me a bit spoiled, so unless it's at "The World" (used to be called The World Music Theater, now it's The First Midwest Bank Ampitheatre) I tend to wimp out on far away shows.

Psychedub Dude 03-28-2014 10:54 AM

Dirty Heads in Atlantic City on april 5th

First announcements for Damnation haven't disappointed. I was incredibly jealous of the Saint Vitus 'Born Too Late' US tour, so the recent announcement of their booking has me a little giddy.

I was checking out this tour, and he's going to Louisville in June which is about 30 minutes from where I live, so I might have to scrounge up some cash to go to that. He's even performing with Warpaint who released a really solid album earlier this year, so that should be an excellent concert.

If you want to go, you should buy tickets soon. It looks like a bunch of the shows are already sold out.

Janszoon 04-01-2014 07:25 PM

I also just bought tickets to see Slint in a month. Woohoo!

Just picked up Guided by Voices tickets today for early June. Damn, that's a long wait.

I just found out that Liars and Ulcerate are both playing the first week of May here. I don't know what the hell is going on with this city right now but there's an abnormally huge amount of great shows happening in the next few months.

I'm thinking about going to see Ulcerate too.

So how was it? The setlist looks pretty great, though not enough Holy Bible - where's "Faster"?

It was excellent, although I did see one member of the audience get bitten in the head towards the end.

The set list was ****ing great, although it would have been good with some more Holy Bible (I was hoping to hear P.C.P or This Is Yesterday), but the two HB songs they did play were great.

How would you even do that? I admittedly lack firsthand experience, but it seems like too slow a song.

I thought the same until I saw it, it was truly an amazing sight to behold. I would have joined in but I was worried I might catch something.

Hoping I can find someone to drive my ass to Iced Earth tomorrow night... I was thinkin its near the end of April. Totally my bad :(

I just found out Godflesh is playing this week. I came here to ask if Godflesh fans would be willing to pay $20 to see them but as I type this I realize that I'm being silly. Of course I'm going

Nobody on Music Banter happens to be going to see Brand New in Glasgow on Tuesday?

Do people here go to gigs alone? I got my ticket in December because they're like my favourite band but none of my pals are into them and I've been desperately searching the internet for a gig buddy.

Never mind, Brand New! Super excited for it.
