I went to see Clutch last night, which was great, and have these to book up this week and look forward to.

Jealous of the Clutch. Every time they've come to town they're on the other side of the state, and I don't get tickets in time to ride with someone. Last time they came to town they were with The Sword too :banghead:

Mojo 04-25-2014 03:42 AM

Yeah, I remember that tour of the US with The Sword. I was incredibly jealous.

GuD 04-25-2014 07:32 PM

Pretty stoked to see PUP and Lemuria open for Menzingers in June. I'm not a huge fan of Menzingers but PUP and Lemuria? **** yeah.

And Bob, dude. We gotta catch that Survival Knife show at the Hemlock!

I looks like the opening band with ex-Jawbreaker members just has Adam, their drummer. Still exciting!

Psy-Fi 05-04-2014 09:02 AM

Going to see the amazing Jamieson "Junior" Brown, tonight, at a favorite small venue. Always a treat to see & hear Junior work his skilled fingers on his 'guit-steel' guitar.

I saw swans about 5 years ago right when they got back together and they put on one of the best shows I've seen. Seeing them again Next Tuesday and I am insanely excited.

Carpe Mortem 05-05-2014 01:21 PM

Going to see a Dio tribute show this Saturday at Detroit Pub... and I'm pretty sure it's the exact same bands from a Dio tribute last year at a different bar  I'm fine with it though, they were all pretty ****in awesome. Rainbow Rising has this chick singer who's sort of a local celebrity because she's hot, popular, and does metal, and it is by far the best female representation of Dio I have ever heard in my life.

jackhammer 05-05-2014 05:46 PM

After catching Riverside and Clutch in the same month I have these pencilled in so far this year:

Anathema (acoustic)
ALT - FEST (The Damned and Dead Kennedys just added to the bill)
Fat Freddy's Drop
Kreator
Damnation Festival

Probably a few more to be popped in along the way.

FRED HALE SR. 05-06-2014 10:46 AM

This looks too good to miss. 40 bucks is a good deal, considering Morrisey wants 75 bucks to see his bloated ass.

Back to Basics 3 (Day 2) with Immortal Technique, Aesop Rock, Raekwon, Souls of Mischief, Zion I & more! | Observatory

Plankton 05-06-2014 10:53 AM

That Dio tribute looks promising Carpe. I wouldn't mind catching that at all.

A friend of mine lives 3 blocks from where this will be in August (same place I saw Clutch last year):

THE SUMMER SLAUGHTER TOUR 2014

Gonna make a drunken day of it, and crash at his place. If I'll be able to walk 3 blocks that is.

Extremely jealous that I'm not in California anymore, that looks like it should be awesome.

I wish I could afford to go to Maryland Deathfest :(

Once we're set in our careers, you can bet your asses that's one of the first big out of state festivals I'll be hitting up.

I'd love to see Agalloch. Very jealous.

Tonight is not only Swans, but thanks to the venues talking to one another, I'm also going straight from there to Melt-Banana! Yussss. :thumb:

bob. 05-23-2014 10:16 AM

Earplugs.

Melt Banana is such a blast live......and Swans is nothing short of s religious experience :)

Don't think I need to tell you to have a great night!

FRED HALE SR. 05-23-2014 11:45 AM
