Yeah I gave Buried Secrets a listen right after, wasn't too impressed.

Thanks for the rec though, it's insanely good.

The Roots - ... And Then You Shoot Your Cousin (2014)

It's quite a departure from 2011's undone but I found the direction they're going in to be positive, or at least not negative. My only complaint is that it's a pretty short album, with only 3 tracks over the 4 minute mark, but it does make a statement within that timeframe, so I guess it's not time wasted.

Their live albums are really something, right on par with Guts of a Virgin albethem somewhat different. Check out Execution Ground, Talisman, and Rituals (my personal favourite of Painkiller). Will provide links if needed.

Ringo Deathstarr Colour Trip (2011)

Ordered a physical CD of this album. I have Mauve (2012) and the download for Gods Dream (2013)- though I'm still waiting for the vinyl copy of that album to ship.

A couple albums I just got that I need to listen to.

Conor Oberst - Upside Down Mountain

I really enjoyed his self titled solo album, but I skipped out on all of his stuff with the Mystic Valley Band, so now I figured I'd just go back to his solo stuff.

Sledding With Tigers - A Necessary Bummer

I really love everything I've heard from these guys, and I know I won't be disappointed with this one.

Hiss Golden Messenger - Haw

Bad Debt was one of my favorite finds of this year, and I like his single that he just put out "Brother, Do You Know the Road?" a lot, and if this album is similar to any of that I'm going to love it.

I'm rekindling my love for folk.

We Drink To Forget The Coming Storm by Leyland Kirby (aka The Caretaker or The Stranger, amongst other aliases)

Its very long (about 3 hours) but also very good. Its got quite the range of emotions incorporated into it too. Great stuff.

It's funny, I actually figured that was going to be The Caretaker just by the artwork alone. I'll have to grab that.

Yeah most of his artwork is made by the same guy.

The album is also available for free for another month or so on his bandcamp page if you're interested
