I'm going to round-up the last 10 albums I downloaded (and listened to), and make Jansz proud.
http://static.rateyourmusic.com/album_images/s15189.jpg Big Black - Atomizer: great album. I've been laying into the noise rock lately and this album's got a great industrial spin on it. Like a cross between Factrix's Scheintot and Flipper's Generic Flipper. Better than either though. http://static.rateyourmusic.com/albu...es/s374191.jpg Windy & Carl - The Dream House/Dedications to Flea: Only listened to the Dream House half of this and it's a pleasant but unremarkable drone album. Still have Dedications to Flea to do before I decide on a RYM rating. http://static.rateyourmusic.com/albu...s/s3849185.jpg Hanne Hukkelberg - Featherbrain: Bit hit and miss art pop album recommended to me by Goofle. Think Regina Spektor crossed with Susanne Sunfor flirting with Cocteau Twins. Highlights include My Devils, the title track, and You Gonna, but the rest is a bit too Regina Spektor to hold my interest. http://static.rateyourmusic.com/albu...s/s3949994.jpg Alt-J - An Awesome Wave: Soulful art pop album I would call somewhere in the realm of The Antlers, James Blake, and Radiohead. Could theoretically see how this album would annoy the **** out of someone, but I'm really happy with it. Will probably make my top 10. http://static.rateyourmusic.com/albu...s/s3585118.jpg I Break Horses - Hearts: Competent shoegaze/dream pop album. Just when I was really starting to get bored with the genre's sea of similar albums, stumble across this little gooder. Something like M83 and Beach House. Solid. http://static.rateyourmusic.com/albu...es/s172156.jpg The Good Life - Album of the Year: Meh. Tim Kasher should stick to Cursive. http://static.rateyourmusic.com/album_images/s95142.jpg Hoedh - Hymnvs: Borderline tacky dark-ambient album. Not really remarkable. I'm not really in to throaty choirs of men who sound like they should be wearing robes and performing human sacrifices. http://static.rateyourmusic.com/album_images/s89137.jpg The Beat - The Beat: Patchy like I find most power-pop albums, though the last track has a hell of a hook. Dances between being excellent and forgettable, and for that I've given it a 2.5/5. http://static.rateyourmusic.com/albu...s/s3935520.jpg The Tallest Man on Earth - There's No Leaving Now: I just don't get this guy. This is the least annoying of his three releases, but somehow it's less charming for it. http://static.rateyourmusic.com/albu...es/s367267.jpg Metric - Live it Out: I think Metric's best album, which is still just run-of-the-mill-indie-rock. Still, I think they're better with guitars than synths, and I am kinda fond of Emily Haines' voice. |

This is a nice little shoegaze EP that I got for a weekly album listening on another site. It's nothing spectacular IMO, but it's still worth a listen since it's only 16 minutes long. |
Just picked up over the weekend:
Louis Armstrong - The Definitive Collection http://pisces.bbystatic.com/entertai...828892;size=m1 Frank Sinatra - Reprise: The Very Good Years http://g-ecx.images-amazon.com/image....L._AA300_.jpg |
Never been a huge Sinatra fan, but anything by Armstrong is brilliant. The man was ridiculously good, more talent and charisma than most entertainers of his day. His personality definitely helped break down the racial segregation in the music industry of the time. Oh, and his music helped me get into jazz, which is consistently my favorite genre of music, period. Good choices, Scotty.

Good band, awesome cd.

Matthew Dear - Beams This is getting quite a lot of internet buzz. Eerie techno, dream pop, electro pop etc. |

Katatonia - Dead End Kings (2012) While I was pretty lukewarm on their 2009 album, I'm still willing to spend money on this band's material. If the single off this is any indication, the band is definitely going back to a more alternative metal style, which I'm okay with so long as it's not just derivative of either their older material, or of other band's material. |
I just downloaded Right Here Waiting by Richard Marx. So soothing and retro.:D

^Hahaha, I had a feeling you'd like that. The minute I saw it I knew I had to send it to you.
|
The Ecce Homo/Ecce Mono story is definitely a strong contender for news item of the year so far.

I really wish i could buy every album i like,i will in time.
The last album i bought was the queen is dead by The smiths which was one of the best decisions ive ever made when deciding which cds to buy, that cd got me hooked. As for downloading, ive just gotten loveless by my bloody valentine. Still need to listen to it. |

JJ DOOM - Key To the Kuffs (2012) Another collaboration album from MF DOOM, this time featuring Jneiro Jarel working the beats. This is easily the most compelling thing I've heard from DOOM since his 2005 collab with Danger Mouse. It's not perfect, but he really shows off his flow on tracks like "Bite the Thong", and there's also some great guest artists like Damon Albarn and Beth Gibbons. If you like DOOM then you definitely should check out this album. |

It's bangin'. Not heard the full album (technically an EP) but it's great so far.
I have to admit that I have been surprised at what I have been able to pick up in HMV. Cancer 4 Cure, Skelethon and now this one, as well as a few other sub-pop releases. Good stuff. |

The Endless Blockade—Primitive Pretty good powerviolence from Toronto. http://www.20buckspin.com/site/wp-co...eb-300x300.jpg The Endless Blockade & Bastard Noise—The Red List Really, really fantastic brain-crushing powerviolence spilt between the aforementioned band and Bastard Noise. Loving this. |

Just got this yesterday. Haven't seen the movie, but a soundtrack by Cave and Ellis? I have to hear this. Expect a review sometime next week.
