That's a good album, but if you're going to check out Los Lobos, I'd recommend giving Kiko a listen.

Nice to see those CunninLynguists albums at the end. Great group and probably my two favourites of theirs. Check out "Death is Silent" by Kno (a member of the group) if you liked them.

NSW 09-11-2012 06:07 PM

I will. I actually haven't listened to them yet, but I really liked A Piece of Strange (the only album of theirs I've listened to). How will these compare?

I would assume you will like them too, as well as the album I suggested. Very consistent musicians, and always tweaking just enough to keep it fresh.

Hall and Oates is kind of a guilty pleasure of mine also. Have you checked out the show on Palladia Daryl's House? Its pretty well done and he usually has on some talented people. You should check it out Howard.

Slayers "Reign In Blood" album and Story Of The Years "Page Avenue" album. Surprisingly I liked SOTY more than I thought I would. And Slayers album is just a instant classic.

The xx - Coxist

Hmm... really liked their debut when it came out, but it bores me a little now. Hopefully this is good. Strayed away from reviews so they don't impact my opinion. Really wanna like it.

I though for a moment you were an IT guy :-) You asked for advice, if you don't like it just drop it.

The last album i bought was Rita Ora's album. Personally i think its great album for the younger generation. There were a few tracks i wasn't so keen on at first but now i love the whole album and if you like that kind of music i would highly recommend.

Watched the CEE LO GREEN episode last night. Damn Cee Lo really connected with Daryl Hall and they played all the hits. Good stuff I really like the sound quality of his home studio.

Krallice - Years Past Matter

DENSE progressive Black Metal. Like... astoundingly dense. Crazy layered guitars. Amazing compositional pieces. Awesome so far, probably going to end up quite high on my AOTY list, which is surprising as I very rarely get into albums in this style all that much.

The Angelic Process - Weighing Souls With Sand (2007)
An incredible drone doom album. The band have a huge, crushing sound on this album that overwhelms you and sucks you in to it's own little world. But despite it's heaviness it can be quite beautiful and emotional at times, with some nice quieter moments breaking up the noisy walls of sound. There's certainly a lot of depth in this album and I'd recommend it to anyone looking for something heavy and soul-crushing.

Flying Lotus - Cosmogramma (2010)
Not quite sure what to make of this album yet, or if I enjoy it or not. It is interesting to say the least as there are a lot of interesting ideas going on, but it doesn't really seem like an album I could connect with or listen to on a regular basis. I will give it another spin however to see if it has a greater effect on me.

I'm not sure if this is the only Flying Lotus album you've had a chance to listen to, but I definitely think Los Angeles is a lot more accessible than Cosmogramma
