I enjoy the first two songs, but it takes a turn for the worst. But it might be a grower, I'm gonna listen to it more.

13 tracks sounds normal for a 1968 psychedelic pop album, right? That's what I thought. What I didn't realize is that this is in fact a double album. The last two tracks are 24 and 18 minutes long respectively, each occupying a full side of an LP, and consist of creepy Japanese spoken word (in English, but Japanese themed--the band's Japanese). I listened to it before going to bed and was so creeped out I couldn't sleep until three in the morning.

Various Artists - Still in a Dream: A Story of Shoegaze 1988-1995 (2016)
Props to Cherry Red Records for releasing this 5 disc compilation with a 40 page booklet consisting of photos and band biographies. There's quite a lot on this that I was already familiar with but there's so much rare stuff that I've never heard before. My Bloody Valentine (gasp!!), The Brian Jonestown Massacre, Mazzy Star, Stereolab and The Verve are unfortunately absent due to licensing issues. Dead Can Dance - Spiritchaser (1996)
There's a heavy African influence on this album and can be interestingly hypnotic at times. Not as good as other albums of theirs but enjoyable none the less.

Talking Heads - Fear of Music (1979)

http://cps-static.rovicorp.com/3/JPG...er=allrovi.com

Talking Heads - More Songs About Buildings and Food (1978)
Got these two for €2 each. More Songs About Buildings and Food is my favourite Talking Heads album, so it's nice to have a physical copy of it.

The Duke Spirit - Cuts Across the Land (2005)
A female-fronted indie rock/garage rock band that's been on my radar for a while but never given a proper listen. I quite enjoy this. Perhaps a couple of unmemorable tracks on it, but songs like 'Love Is An Unfamiliar Name' hit the spot nicely.

Ian Dury - Reasons to Be Cheerful: The Best of Ian Dury (2005)
I "found" this in the bottom of an old desk cabinet in work (I assumed that no-one wanted it...). This compilation covers his solo material and his various bands including The Blockheads. It's hit or miss, but when it hits you can't help but nod along. A welcome addition to my CD collection though.

I got that when it when it first came out. I always felt like the harmonica made it a lot less good than it could have been but it was still a pretty good album.

FFF—20.000 Hardcore Members Can't Be Wrong (2011)
I'm pretty shocked that this kind of happy hardcore/breakcore/whatever was still being made as of 2011, but this is good shit—crazy high-energy stuff to get chores done to.

Cochin Moon by Haruomi Hosono (1978)

One precursor to Yellow Magic Orchestra. Treads the line between dated and novel - the third part of "Hotel Malabar", Roof Garden, somehow does this simultaneously (it is, however, likely my favorite part of this album). It is obviously influenced by traditional Indian music elements, but still has its own overall flavor even if it darts around a fair bit; "Hepatitis" wouldn't sound out of place on an old Nintendo game soundtrack (unsurprisingly, Hosono later created some early video game tunes) while the last track sounds very "Berlin". The experience is worth it for anyone who likes the whole 70s synth/electro sound.

Lightdreams - Islands In Space (1981)

Picked up this recently reissued cult album. Its pastoral space folk-rock with touches of ambient and acid rock humming around the edges. I think these guys were hitting the blunt pretty hard, most likely while jamming 'And You And I' by Yes on constant repeat....and I'm enjoying it quite a bit!

Ugh, here we go. Once again I waited too long since my last post and now I have a million albums to post here. Things I've downloaded, streamed, and otherwise listened to for the first time since my last post, in order, excluding vinyl purchases:

Ol’ Qwerty Bastard 02-19-2016 01:53 PM

Wasn't a fan of the new DIIV record, but that Milo project is fantastic, one of the best surprises of last year for me.

Water Bearer by Sally Oldfield

What a nice way to start the morning. Just real quaint new-agey Irish folk. Leave your shoes and troubles at the door; you won't need them here.

Soda - Without a Head [EP] (2016)
Nice post-punk that doesn't seem to be trying to emulate a specific band or style like many others. Promising EP.

Sioux Falls - Rot Forever (2016)
I mentioned this in the Albums You're Digging thread a few days ago so I'll just copy those thoughts here: I heard a song last Friday while shuffling my 2016 album queue and I liked it very much, reminding me of 1994 Built to Spill and Weezer. Can't go wrong with those things. The song was "Your Name's Not Ned". So over the weekend I decided to listen to the whole album. It's a lot more emo than I expected, emo in the 90s revival style (SDRE, Mineral, etc.) not the corporate emo of the early 2000s and beyond. It's a long album but it's one of the best I've heard in the style since the 90s.

http://rymimg.com/lk/f/l/93e7a39db5f...a/5921431.jpeg

Animal Collective - Painting With (2016)
It seems like a lot of music publications were dogging on this one but luckily I found it enjoyable. Two plays so far - it's a fun and accessible album for them, but I don't see any fault in that.

https://images-na.ssl-images-amazon....d0L._SS280.jpg

Self Defense Family - Superior [EP] (2016)
Prior to this, I'd only listened to last year's Heaven Is Earth. These 4 tracks are pretty subdued in comparison, but nice.

https://images-na.ssl-images-amazon....3jL._SS280.jpg

Charles Howl - Sir Vices (2015)
Listening to this one now and I quite enjoy it. I'd heard a few songs already up to now and this morning decided it was time I give the whole album a listen. Indie/Psychedelic pop band from London.

Duty Now For The Future is very underrated as Devo albums go. The Day My Baby Gave Me A Surprise and Wiggly World are two of my favorite songs that any non Devo fan could ever name.

Also, it's difficult these days trying to stand out as a cellist working in

Hm I suppose in fairness my knowledge of her music only extends to Mount A and Without Sinking - closer to the birth than maturity - both of which are good but I haven't exactly fallen for either. And I know she did work on Theory of Machines which is indeed great. If you want to shoot me something from her you think I might like more (solo or otherwise), please do.

I just bought popular singer Arijit Singh hits CD in market and thought to give a very good review on that music. Really I have lost myself in hearing those songs. Loving this at the moment. Does anyone know of any similar sounding stuff? I've torrented their discog. so will go through that. I had some other things to listen to but they sound more aggressive than this so I'm guessing this might be more like commercial sounding/Poppier Punk?

I like it anyway.
